It's not even just that. It's the fact that they're not only hating on a movie they've never seen, they've decided they hate it and its fans so much before it's even come out that they hope it will suck just so people are unhappy. I mean, that's grade-A level douchebaggery right there.

Get your stories straight. Those were rumors. I thought he was associated with terrorists for a bit as well, but I was caught up in the hysteria of 9/11 (and the effect it had on my family). I have since looked into the accussations and discovered that they were false. He himself was even disgusted with the radicals in in faith and has said several times that their methods are not what Islam is all about.

148. I'm gonna hafta disagree on this one. Not that I don't love Hey Arnold--I do. It was a fantastic show to grow up with and really did a good job of realistic-ish kids and all (Helga was one of the most real and fantastic protaganists ever).
But it had character, not character development. Because almost all the lessons learned were undone by the resent button. It wasn't a series with continuity (or much of it), which is okay, because it was a great series anyway. But without continuity, you can't really develope a character.

And I'm sorry, I don't think the dialogue in Avatar was terribly contrived. They didn't speak like normal 11-15-year-old kids, but then, they weren't. HA spoke like that because they were normal kids going to school in a normal city.

While I'm not sure I agree on Avatar being bad -- I'd honestly rather see a HA! revival than anything else. If the creator were just allowed to make that Helga spin-off like he initially intended, I'd be all for it. (Plus, they can't worry about it being too Daria-like. Hell, what we need is another Daria.)
