I want to make some little tarts and take them down to the blood bank, but it's been raining on and off all morning and I don't want to get rained on :c
Also I need to stop by the pharmacy and drop off some old meds - I got swapped onto the slow release version of the same pill, but I still have a nearly-full box of the old ones.

I had the day off work, which was great, but my brain decided to be an asshole and make me cry for probably period/hormone reasons, and I didn’t get as much done as I wanted. But now I’m gonna go do laundry and get groceries and do some more walking on top of that. I should get wrapping paper and make a start on wrapping stuff.

I am currently freaking out. I have my drivers test tomorrow for my full license and I'm very nervous about it. I postponed taking it until the last possible minute like an idiot, and if I fail I'll have to start again from scratch. (aka I got my G1 right as soon as I was able, my G2 right at the limit of the expiry, and now my full again at it's expiry;; like a decade overall)
My depression's been bothering me lately so I know that while I am/was a great driver, my attention/awareness have taken a hit overall. I've picked up some bad habits like people do (aka who actually does the exact speed limit anyways?;;) after driving for such a long time. I became very comfortable with driving my mom's old car, but she got a new one this summer with all those fancy driving aids which are all set up to her preference. I can't use it for the test because those gadgets aren't allowed and she doesn't want to mess around with them. I'm left with my dad's truck, which I don't like driving (the pedals have not stop, which is what I use to adjust my seat) despite loving his old truck. (holy shit this is getting ridiculous)
The driving test place is always busy, not to mention tiny, so maneuvering this giant truck around it is going to be annoying. If I fail I'll have to stat all over again, which isn't really an option. I'm not at my best mentally to be tested on something I've grown to have bad habits for, and want to know what else? (Of course you don't, but I'm going to keep going anyways!)
THERE WAS A SNOWSTORM YESTERDAY! There's like a shit ton of ice and snow, the first of the season, and I am freaking the fuck out!! AUUGHH!!!!

I have an interview for a part time remote position soon. Part of me is "Alright" and the other part is "Now people are going to bother me for at least 20 but no more than 25 hours a week."

Ate some tacos. Annoyed that someone is staying in my office at work so I can't crochet cuz I have to look busy all the time.

Feeling tired and stressed. I have been clenching my teeth while I sleep. I am desperately trying to figure out what I want to do in the future as a job. My company is being bought and I don't trust the buyers not to move most production out of the states.

Physically a bit better. Hope it continues.

Mentally, okay. I'll probably be alone on Christmas but I'm fine with that (been the case for the last few years anyway). As long as I still can walk and move around, I think I'll be okay. Been listening to Christmas music a lot and enjoying it, singing along, and also writing fic.

Kind of moody and lonely, really, not sure why.

Today was a good day, though! It started off rocky 'cause I woke up this morning to the heat not being on and it's freezing ass outside and my cat is 19 and crying in pain 'cause she was so cold, the poor baby (that's what woke me up). So I had to get up way early and dig out my space heater and just when I was going 'I'm going to have to call in sick because there's no heat and I can't leave my heater running without being around, that's a fire hazard' the heat got fixed. Blessed warmth.

As payment for my suffering, I got Starbucks on the way in, and then the girls I work with and I went for a holiday lunch at a sphagetti place and it was fantastic and I'm just counting down the days until I'm off for the year. I'm just tired. It was a good, productive day at work but I'm ready for a break.

Massive tension headache all day. Got 2 job applications done and not much else. Mostly just been laying in bed with a heating pad on my neck.

i am stuck in a hell week at work (and next qont be any better) bc we're understaffed (one colleague is pregnant and cant do shit anymore and replacements are hard bc we do specialized work and training someone to replace her will take a few months at least!)

I thought it was pretty bold of them to go with that costume towards the end there - the gold angel-looking one? - given how very weird it looks. I've never been a big fan of the 80's aesthetic, though, so that might just be me.

Black Widow

Nothing personal, Black Widow fans, but I just... don't care. I haven't cared about the character of Black Widow since the first Avengers movie, and Endgame was such a fucking slog of a movie, this might be the first MCU film in years that I haven't been to in cinemas?
(Also, super nitpicky - why the fuck is there four Russian characters sitting around a table in Russia engaged in casual conversation in English?)

I haven't seen much discussion of the new trailer or anything to do with the film, really. Even from people I follow who I know to be big Disney fans. Personally I saw the first trailer, went "Gosh, Disney has made a wuxia film", and stopped caring at all.
I'm sure it will make money, because Disney owns everything and can straight-up force cinemas to screen what they want, but does anyone actually care that much about this movie?

Okay, I'm... I'm gonna be real impolite here about a cheesy family film that's basically just the same thing as The Pacifier, Kindergarten Cop, The Tooth Fairy - 'Big Tough Man must interact with Spunky Children, Hilarity Ensues^TM'
But like fuck is letting three little shitheads take over a goddamn fire station a fun idea! What, do we get a scene where a family of four burns to death in their house because the obnoxious 9-year-old boy tied all the firemen up with their own hose? So jolly!
Forgive me for taking this all way too seriously, but a significant percentage of my country is currently ON FIRE so I am feeling a little but HUMOURLESS WHEN IT COMES TO THIS SORT OF THING.

Not sure about real people, though I can think of a few fictional people (Hermione and Neville from Harry Potter spring to mind). I guess I'll go with Jackson Galaxy in the sense of animals saved me from a dark place, and my cat in particular saved me at a point in my life where I was at least heading towards being suicidal.

This will sound dumb, but Carrie Fisher. It seems like we share a lot of the same problems and a lot of the same dreams. The biggest differences are that she was 40 years older and I'm a worthless failure. *shrug*

RIP Marie Fredriksson

Marie Fredriksson of Roxette passed away last monday at the age of 61.

I loved a lot of their songs growing up and "Sparvöga" of her solo work always makes me cry.
