Got our privacy fence installed so we won't have to see our shitty new neighbors. Went to work and spent all day in meetings. Applied for a job I am so under-qualified for.

At work, feeling vaguely like the universe is punishing me for having nothing much but fun easy things to do on the job last week by drowning me (and coworkers) in a tsunami of slogging labor. Ow ow ow.

I actually had a good, productive day. I'm still working from home, but apparently having ended last week on a good note meeting my self-imposed deadlines, then having a three day weekend where I did nearly nothing and slept a lot, did me a lot of good.

Welp, found a lovely roach that decided it had to run into my empty shoe as I was spraying it. I'm sick of finding bugs. I don't even know how they're getting in; I'm pretty good at plugging water fixtures and they swear up and down that the bug guy sprays every week. I'm paying way too much to be dealing with fucking roaches IMO. I know that sounds ungrateful, what with others having not so great living situations, but I never had this problem at my old place, and I was paying less there per year even at the monthly rate.

I'm also not happy I wasted 40 minutes trying to get lunch only to give up and go home. I shouldn't complain though. An omelet is better than nothing.

Well, I had an appointment with my pain management doctor today, and they said that the MRI of my neck that I had last week showed that I have a bulging disc near the base (which is something I already knew from my last pain doctor), and so they're gonna give me some more trigger point injections on June 30th and an epidural there on July 6th. They also put me on Lyrica, which I used to take and which worked really well for several years until my body built up a resistance and it didn't help anymore. The hope is that since it's been over a decade since I last took it, that won't be a problem for a while. Fingers crossed, eh?

They also want me to get MRIs of my back and hips later this week, and if they end up looking anything like my last MRIs of those areas did, that may finally convince the doctor to put me back on the same dosage of Norco that my last pain doctor had me on. As it is, I'm on less than half the dosage that I was before, and let's just say that I can very definitely feel the difference. I spend most of my time in so much pain I can barely think, but apparently "just" having fibromyalgia, psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, degenerative disc disease, a herniated disc, plantar fasciitis and sciatica isn't enough to justify the amount of pain medication I was previously on, and they need more to go on before they're willing to bump me back up. I can't really blame them, because I know that their hands are pretty much tied, seeing as how Florida recently passed some pretty strict legislation on how/when/why doctors can prescribe opioid painkillers, but it's still really frustrating. Well, whatcha gonna do.

Anyway, after my appointment I went to the store and got some groceries and treated myself to some cupcakes at the bakery to cheer myself up. Now I'm curled up on my recliner in my favorite PJs and I'm about to play some more Dragon Age while cuddling with my new kitty, Amaya. So all things considered, it could still be a lot worse.

Been a stressful day. My dad had eye surgery this morning, so we've been looking after him. I also took care of groceries and pharmacy runs so my mom could take stay with dad. Ended up with an idiot pharmacist who first couldn't understand that I was picking up for my parents in spite of me being clear in specifying who I was picking up for and why and giving identification information and then only gave me my mother's prescriptions so I had to go back.

Also had a couple stressful work cases to work on. Started having computer issues just before my Toastmasters meeting (internal microphone wasn't working). May have to take it to the shop sometime in the coming week.

Here in Missouri, having to go to work tomorrow, side-eying absolutely everyone because I'm sure someone in the office was dumbfuck enough to go to the Ozarks...

I'm okay, although my sleep is messed up and it's messing up my body a bit. I'm trying to get a lot of work and fun stuff done, but I really need to get more consistent sleep. Once I start working on something fun late at night it's hard to stop, but I need more self-discipline. Went to bed at 2am last night, gonna aim for midnight tonight, lol.

Not great at the moment since I've been awake almost 24 hours at this point (and only got a few hours of sleep the night before last). Got home a bit ago, took a shower, just finished eating after barely eating anything the past couple days (haven't had much of an appetite) and I'm about to head to bed.

It was my first day back in the office in a little over 2 months, and it was weird. There aren't any clients back yet, and everything was moved around to make it easier/more efficient to disinfect, so it was just...odd. Things are so up in the air right now, and I feel like I normally would be kind of emotional trying to process it all, but I'm so tired that my brain is barely working at this point. If past experience is anything to go by, I'll go to sleep and probably have a weird (though hopefully not bad) dream or two and then wake up and not really think about it, so maybe it's not a horrible thing that I'm so exhausted.

How is everyone today?

Jake and Amy not talking about having kids before they got married actually kind of ruined Brooklyn Nine-Nine for me. No fucking way Amy Santiago wouldn't have had, like, binders of info about future children and career coordination lined up.

There was a breach a few years ago. And DW has been noting more recent content stuffing. It's not uncommon for folk to reuse usernames, or never change their passwords that they'll use on different yet similar sites. Heads up if you were an LJ --> DW migrant (or for some godforsaken reason still use that hackered hellsite)
