To the OP: read this comment (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomsecrets/225143.html?thread=96793207#t96793207) and also possibly this post (http://xplodey-di.livejournal.com/135075.html). Things CAN be miserable--but things also CAN be great. Such is life. :)

Btw, this is coming from a pessimist who often thinks what you so keenly expressed. I just 'remember it could always be worse' and the song of the same name in this old Rudolph movie....~You could be lost in a desert, 200 degrees, no water around and lots of snakes and bees; it may be cold out there, but life sometimes is unfair.....in this big universe, but remember it could always be worse.~

That and remember that you 'must be the change you wish to see in the world'. :)

Usually I like Maker's Mark, but it's a bit strong/expensive for something this intense. Tattoo and Coke, easy on the Coke, is a good fallback if I haven't got anything particularly awesome on hand.

133: I agree, for the most part. There are some great fanfic authors out there who capture the total fuckery of their relationship, but they're hard to find amidst all of the fluff lovers. (Not that I don't love me some fluff, but I love the disfunctionality and angst even more).

161: You know, I never really thought about it that way... I'm not a wincest fan (mostly because I HAVE brothers, and the idea of doing them makes me sick), but the more I thought about it after reading this secret, the more it makes sense.
Screwed up people fascinate me. I think it would be great if people wrote wincest in a very fucked up, seriously disfunctional way (like it probably would be in real life). Unfortunately it's all fluffery and hot sex. No reality whatsoever.

Oh, dude, I have a brother IRL, and I still love wincest. The trick is a level emotional dissociation from the characters where you can still empathise with them, but not to the extent that you accidentally start thinking about screwing your own family while reading fic. It helps that neither of them particularly remind me of my brother. And also that I'm a girl. (I tried to read wincest where Sam had been born a girl once, and ugh, ugh, I COULD NOT DO IT. /o\ Older Brother/Younger Sister = too close to home for me not to be brain breakingly uncomfortable)

Occasionally you do get the odd piece of fucked up wincest, and I usually find that pretty fascinating. I also like unrealistic wincest, because fantasy! yay!, but screwed up psychology is awesome where you can find it.

It's been a while since I've read it, so don't hold me to this, but I think With Spit and a Prayer (http://community.livejournal.com/sn_fic/540964.html) might be a pretty good read in terms of wincest for a non-wincest fan (I ship them hardcore so usually I'm rooting for them to hook up, but in that story I was like DEAR GOD BOYS PLEASE DON'T HAVE SEX ...PLEASE?). It's a sequel technically, but the first story, Passenger, is pretty short. WSaaP is really, really long though. And incredibly angsty and really screwed up. So, y'know, use your own discretion as to whether you actually want to read it or not.

But, really, all I want to see in the ending for the movie is the same intent in what Adrian (whose actor really concerns me) does, and the same end result. I am not spoiling myself for whatever the new ending may be. But that is all I ask.
