Favorite true crime shows

I'm currently rewatching/watching Murder Maps, my favorite true crime show (I'd only previously seen seasons 1-2, I'm now watching it all). I love it because it is a look the history of murder and criminology in the UK, and I've always loved look at the history of things and how they developed.

What are your favorite true crime shows?

Forensic Files. Which, Pluto TV has a channel that is just Forensic Files 24/7. Though, I prefer podcasts.

I'll co-sign the mention of "Forensic Files", "New Detectives", "Dateline", and "48 Hours". I also like "Dominick Dunne's Power, Privilege, and Justice" and "Cold Case Files".

And then there's the shows on Investigation Discovery-from there, I like stuff like "Deadly Women", "Fatal Vows", "Web of Lies", "Fear Thy Neighbor", "Evil Lives Here", "Shattered", to name a few.

A Crime to Remember. I've only seen a couple of episodes (don't have cable anymore and haven't bothered to find it through other means) but they have people in period clothing acting shit out it's actually pretty good.

Other than that it's usually podcasts for me or old Unsolved Mysteries while I do other stuff and only half pay attention.

Something that can fly, especially now that COVID makes taking public transit a scary gamble.

Since shapeshifting implies magic is involved I'm gonna go with dragon. One that can talk and breathe fire and (shades of Anne McCaffrey here) teleport.

If I could just generally do magic as a dragon I'd fix all the falling apart parts of my house, magic the upcoming US election so chump and his lickspittles can't cheat (I don't think the dems will unless like chump you think letting brown people and dems vote counts as cheating) and then get to work reducing environmental pollution.

Whether I'd do that last via ensorcelling garbage and pollutants their companies are responsible for to appear in the mansions of Fortune 500 company CEOs, or just sit on factory roofs and breathe fire until production shut down, idk. Maybe both.

Also I would totally show up at picket lines to look menacing and prevent strike breaking, and protests to protect protestors from police being assholes.

I wrote a fanfic about a character doing the do with a sentient hand puppet - so I count that as both the best and worst thing I have ever written.

I don't know if it's the best thing I've ever written or anything, but yesterday I wrote: "I've bled more for people I loved less," from the heroine re. the villain's Scarpia Ultimatum. I liked it, at any rate.

I wrote a trollfic once that had a big buildup to the epic climax and all (in the same way My Immortal had epic climactic buildup, which is to say "not really"). Then the conflict was solved in one sentence when the protagonist, who was a catgirl, realized that since the villain was part fish, she could just eat him. Because cats eat fish.
