So there was an instance in which it was determined that there was intra-group bullying going on, and this made you more skeptical of claims of intra-group bullying?

I mean, I kinda think the whole industry and subculture is probably filled to the brim with toxicity and harassment and bullying on every level, from fans to executives to group members. But that take doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

I find it absolutely fascinating the ways in which Star Trek and Doctor Who have dealt with the problem of aliens/technologically advanced humans interacting with societies that don't have that technology yet.

In Star Trek there's the Prime Directive.

In Doctor Who there's the Time Lord non-interference clause and later the Shadow Proclamation.

In Star Trek there's a constant tension because they'll want to break the Prime Directive for good reasons, but usually the episode will end with the Prime Directive being upheld as a flawed but ultimate good.

In Doctor Who, the Doctor pretty much ignores all that and ends up being right most of the time.

The secret? Even though I understand that Star Trek's Prime Directive was made to show that the Federation is the opposite of a colonizing/imperialist force and that the Doctor doing their own thing would be bad in real life, I MUCH prefer Doctor Who's answer to this situation.

After all, Star Trek is (or at least used to be) a utopia. Is it really so hard to imagine that we'd have figured out how to interact with other cultures by that point?

I feel like the only one who doesn’t care if some upcoming Hollywood movies get released outside of the US first, or don’t even come to theaters in all areas.

Maybe I’m wrong but I swear that not too long ago it was pretty common for Hollywood movies to get released in a non-US country first because that’s just how the schedule worked out re: other movies’ release schedules, different holidays, etc. I suppose the internet making piracy and spoilers easier made that less of a good strategy, but it also seems to have spoiled people to the point that they go crazypants when it doesn’t work out that way and I am tired of the whining.

I never had any interest in seeing Tenet and I do not care if it’s in theaters around here (I haven’t even checked) or if I get spoiled because other people saw it before me.

I do want to see Wonder Woman 1984 in a theater, but I figure there’s a decent chance of that happening and, in any case, I don’t care if people elsewhere got to see it first.
