113. Well, I fucking loved it, but then again, I really love Keanu Reeves and think he's completely underrated. I don't care what anyone says about him, I think he's a BRILLIANT actor. One doesn't have to make a zillion facial expressions to get one's point across, IMO. I'm a real person, and I don't show all of everything I'm thinking at any given moment. If that makes me a robot, then I guess I can understand the Keanu hate. Um. I went vaguely off topic, sorry OP. YOU'RE NOT ALONE was my actual point, lol.

Keanu does subtle emotions like wonder and irritation very well - better than most actors in his age category, IMHO - but he doesn't do big emotions like grief well, and he does non-internalized anger very poorly. Unfortunately, anger is one thing that most films in the action and SF genres ask a hero to do pretty much consistently. I thought this was brilliant casting, myself, although due to family drama and other stuff getting in the way, I haven't gotten to see the movie.

It's more that she flipflops between him being understandable and being pure evil. Like, you think you can make the connection of him being the way he is because of what happened to him, but you can't help having the nagging suspicion that if he wasn't already messed up in the head, nothing all that bad happened to him that would induce that amount of evil.

tl;dr: Sociopathic villains, cool. Cardboard cutouts with 'wtf, good people in this universe have had worse shit happen to them' backstories pasted on yey, not cool.

My favourite book, and I can understand where you're coming from, but even ignoring his obvious flaws I think H.H. is still a little too creepy and obsessive for my tastes (to put it lightly).

103- This shouldn't have to be a secret, that's the BEST DISNEY FILM EVER CREATED. (totally working on a Kuzco cosplay at the moment. I'm such a dorkface)

113- I really, really did not expect to like it. I hate remakes by default, and I didn't want Keanu Reeves anywhere near Klaatu. I ended up adoring him in the part, and I agree, the movie was a really great adaptation of the original. My only problem was that they never said Klaatu Barada Nikto, so I couldn't cough really loudly during the last word and hope that someone else in the audience had seen Army of Darkness.

146- I always type the word house in blue on my assignments for my classes. Also, casa, in Spanish 2. I hope one day, one of my teachers will get the reference. Or at least say something about it, they don't seem to notice.
