157. Race doesn't matter in cosplay, in my opinion. I've seen tons of Japanese cosplayers as non-Asian characters, and Caucasian cosplayers as Asians, why would a black Sailor Moon be any different in principle? Hell, I'm an Arab girl who's cosplayed Reno from FFVII. Trust me, you'll make a kick-ass Sailor Moon. :)

157. Maybe you can cosplay her anyway? She's supposed to be Japanese, but lots of white people cosplay her. Seems unfair for black people not to be able to as well. I think you'd look fine. Though it is awful that there aren't more dark skinned characters to pick from in most fandoms.

157. I say do it anyway. I've seen some amazing african-american cosplayers! You just have to make sure everything's good quality, and you'll blow any detractors right out of the park. (Anyone who would still complain about you would be a jerk...to put it nicely.)

164. I prefer the book version because C.S. Lewis didn't feel the need to have romantic subplots to make people interested in his stories. :P Although there's probably some nostalgia there, sure, and I enjoy the movies, but for goodness sakes they're not masterpieces.
(Besides, plenty of the characters had issues in the books. I like the subplot they had about Susan and Peter growing up, though.)

There really wasn't much to the "romantic subplot," though; I also don't get why everyone complains about it, when there was almost NOTHING to it except one inconclusive kiss at the end– and they'll NEVER see each other again. To me, it was not really about Susan/Caspian hooking up, but Susan learning how to be more outgoing/courageous (in the beginning of the movie she is anti-social and withdrawn).

And I never said the movies were masterpieces or that no one in the books had issues, just that movie Peter and Susan are much more interesting than book Peter and Susan.

157: You know, Sailor Moon doesn't look Japanese either and yet her actresses in both the live action and stage musical versions look excellent. I really think it's one of those things where it's about how well you rock it, not how much your appearance suits the character per se. So do it if you feel so inclined! I'm sure you'll look great. :)

157. These secrets always make me D: BUT You could just make an adaption of the character to suit your needs. You could probably play with the manga design (like the original one with the goggles and cape?) and make a really great costume. :3

If you can't make it 100% down-to-the-last-hair-follicle perfect, then make it the most creative adaption you can. Lord knows how many people do sexy!jutsu cosplays and they don't even try that hard. I:|

164. The book series was one of my favorites as a little girl, but I readily acknowledge the fact that C.S. Lewis didn't do much in the way of deeper character development. So far, I love the way the films have interpreted the characters . Susan is my pet favorite, and how they pitch her (if only in mention until LB) from here on out is something I'm very interested to see. The additions in PC actually played right into my own interpretations of Susan and why she does what she does from here on out.

Thank you OP, you've given me a new manga to look into! I didn't know she had any other series out besides Vampire Knight and Merupuri, and it's unfortunate that Merupuri doesn't have a bigger fandom either. I guess that's what happens when a series is only four books long...

Oh, yeah, she's got three others--one is literally impossible to find, though. WANTED is actually a one-shot I stumbled onto when VK was just starting to get popular. I've been a fan of her for years XD. MeruPuri was the first manga I ever finished XD. Captive Heart is interesting because it has a lot of changing art... and I'm rambling xD
