Vending machines kill 4 times more people per year than sharks. "If you forgot what terror was like...it's back."

How does that happen? Do they fall on people, electrocute them or rip their hands off after they've tried to dig something out of the machine?

There is a legit article to suggest using the manga/anime of Naruto as a part of talking-based therapy.

Pesquet's parrot, also known as the vulturine parrot or Dracula parrot, is one of three parrots with bare (featherless) faces. Females are distinguished by their lack of red markings around their eyes, which the males typically have.

Casts of Elizabeth Barret Browning and Robert Browning's clasped hands exist, made by the fantastic sculptor Harriet Hosmer. Done first in plaster, and then in bronze. As in, yes, you can still see them holding hands. In 3D.

To have a better understanding of just how big stars actually are, the smallest star ever measured by science is estimated to be roughly the size of the planet Saturn. Saturn's volume is greater than 760 Earths combined. THAT'S how big stars are.

Oh, and here's what Saturn apparently sounds like:

There are many languages that are mutually intelligible, but the degree of how intelligible they are depends. Spanish is significantly intelligible with Portuguese when written, but asymmetrical intelligible when spoken.

Carl Sagan worked with a lady called Ann Druyen in deciding what should be put on the record of sounds to be sent into space with the Voyager spacecraft. They fell madly in love while doing so and were married until Sagan's death.

Two of our solar system's comets are named after them - Sagan and Druyen, the idea being that they are dancing through space together forever.

new fandoms, old fandoms...

(Anonymous) 2020-12-13 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I have a long WIP in a fandom that I drifted away from. It's unpublished but all the same I'd like to finish it.
What do you do to rekindle your love for a fandom and a character?

What themes or details about an individual piece of (fan)art do you tend to most like or dislike?

That is to say, what often sticks out to you when it comes to artwork, be it good or bad? (Can be related to specific fandoms or just in general.)

What's Cookin', F!S?

[personal profile] tabaqui 2020-12-13 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I actually cooked today, heh.

Made 'spaghetti' from squash today (first time - so easy!), and then I cooked up some broccoli, cauliflower, onions, peppers, fresh corn, mushrooms and garlic in soy sauce and some sweet & sour sauce I got at the store, then cooked up some dead pig in same sauce, then heated up my squash noodles in the pan with cherub tomatoes, and am now having dinner. Tasty!

Also - enough left for at lesat three work lunches, yay!
