Its mostly anonymous, super low-key, you can sign up and just receive or send however many postcards you like (it's not 1:1). No giving your address to a bunch of random people, the organiser does all the mailing thanks to donations from participants. It's open to international people as well. And it is definitely legit, I have received half a dozen postcards so far. You can see some of the postcards in the gallery:

Don't know if you'll see this but, this sounds really cool! I tried messaging the admin via tumblr (I don't have a tumblr, so on anon) but I haven't heard back and look at time I tried messaging someone on take, they never received my message, so I'm concerned they'd not receive my message. Do you happen to know where I can find the protonmail for the mod? I'd rather not use the Google form...

Everyone in my area went batshit after London went into another tier last night and closed down non-essential shops again. I didn't even know about it til I went to the supermarket to get milk and saw how swamped the place was with everyone panic buying/last minute xmas shopping.

I'm sorry. Be safe, OP. I spent my Sunday loafing in bed and I'm having mixed feelings about if that's a waste of my day off or good that I allowed myself to rest. I've had a problem with my sinuses for a week or so now (tested covid negative twice), so maybe I'm just giving my body a chance to recoup.

Good. I've done my XMas shopping, the Covid situation is getting better in my town (it never was that bad to begin with) and the days are soon getting longer again.

I'm just waiting for a couple of international packages, but considering how the post is a complete trainwreck in pretty much every country now, I don't think that I'll be getting them any time soon.

I got a new couch so I am currently starting to put that together and I expect it'll take at least an hour. But at the end of it, I will have a couch. That's what I'm trying to focus on.

Yikes, I hope you got what you needed and stay safe!

I didn't sleep well and kept waking up crying with pain (panic attack I think) until finally I just stayed up from 1-4:30 before falling back to bed. There were at least two rats running around down the hall but my cat ignored them and went back to sleep because it was freezing and like hell was she hunting when she could be warm. I couldn't catch them so they'll probably still be running around tonight. That part of the house used to be a storage shed and was badly refinished, so there's always critters getting in or rattling around in the walls.

Then when I finally got up I realized someone stole $60 worth of pet food off the front porch. Roommate just said "I told you so" because she didn't bring it in.

I hope the thief enjoys their 10 lbs of dried larvae. I just ordered some more and am ignoring my bank balance until next year.

Now I need to make fudge for my coworkers and wrap presents and shower and clean house and get groceries but tbh I think I'll nap first. Sigh.

Exhausted and sore from all the unboxing, unpacking, decorating, etc. I've done around the house. Mouth still hurts some as well. Just took some meds, and about to take a nap. I do feel accomplished, though. Got a lot done and was able to help mom, which feels good.

Also getting hyped up about Night of the Nocturne on Flight Rising. Mostly hoping to make a lot of currency to buy some more new Veilspuns, which I'm super obsessed with. Even though I've got a bunch of new ones I still haven't named yet. I also have 5 pairs of dragons nesting to hatch on Christmas that should produce some nice Christmasy dragons that should sell well.

Not too bad, I slept in for about an hour. My husband wanted to go for a walk this morning and I went with him. We stopped by the donut shop on our way home and I got a chocolate coconut cake donut and some coffee, and they gave me a donut hole for my dog (she was very happy about that). I had some lunch and now I'm watching football. Leftovers for dinner tonight and all my chores have been done (including Christmas shopping, yay), so I'm just chilling for the rest of the day.

I'm American and over here, Ron Johnson blocked a bipartisan push for a second round of stimulus checks so I sent him an angry letter demanding that he get out of his own ass. Anyone wanting to do the same, you can Google "Ron Johnson contact" and let him know what a POS he is he should stop blocking it.

I don't get panic buying, at least not for non-perishables. It's not like people didn't have an inkling that Christmas might mean another lockdown. You should've stocked up weeks/months ago AND finished holiday shopping, ffs.

Was in a really bad place this morning, actually scared myself a bit with how dark my thoughts were. Then this afternoon hey ho completely flip flopped into being okay. Bit stressed, but mostly okay and no longer experiencing the howling void.

The switch was so dramatic I think it might be the sleeping medication i'm taking causing my mood to be low.

I'm furious at myself. I purged a lot of my notepads recently, typing up everything except the start of one story that I apparently scrapped without first copying it onto computer. 😤😭

I have an appointment with my gyno today, and I'm not really looking forward to it. I don't like him, but my options are very limited, and at least it's free?
Also, my mother accepted an invite to lunch on my behalf, and I'm a little annoyed because it's just a tiny little bit more stress for me, and I can't complain either because it's a free lunch at a place I know does great food. It's just, like, scheduling? I get terribly worried about being late to things.

Pretty good, really, if a bit sleepy.

Went to see a play done by the local group. Wore a mask, social distancing, etc. Tiny venue with very small audience. It was cute, and the children acting were good. One is the child of my ex's new wife - she played the lead and did a really good job!

We (me and ex) both did drama in HS, and she (Jeff) seems to really, really love it, so I hope she keeps with it and gets to do the competitions and school plays and things; that was all blast.

After three days of migraine, finally at least driving around to restock pokeballs didn't make me too nauseated to also take a walk. Cold, but... walk in forest. Walk in forest, if not nauseated or otherwise in pain or severe discomfort, is always good.

Finally after 33,000 words, last night got to start writing the scenes I originally had plotted when I started considering writing this darned fic. Stayed up till 3am. 36,500ish words now and lots of plot points getting to the actual... uh, point. Wish my GI tract would stop being evil to me so I could focus enough to keep writing more.
