I'm loving all these 'looking back on kids books' secrets because it's neat to see what other people grew up reading. That said, at first I thought this was Through Violet Eyes which IIRC was about a psychic or something and definitely not the same book as this so I was very confused.

Also, so far I have not heard of a single book listed in any of these secrets.

This is only half-related to your secret, but I wanted to ship Gene and Finny so bad when I had to read A Separate Peace. The book's just too depressing to really think about shipping though.
