Despite being a bit of a classic literature nerd, I have tried reading Dickens several times and I'm just not a fan.

I do however know A Christmas Carol extremely well. Because of the Muppets film.

... It's one of my top five favorite ever films.

it'd be nice if the 'dean is bi!!!!' brigade ever put half the effort into showing support/interest in actual bi/lgbt characters, but then that would be expecting them to actually care about representation. lol.

I've never actually read the brick. We have the same favorite character, yes... but I got to know him through an anime adaptation.

Deluca's memorial was the most lazy writing I have ever seen. Seriously? Music swelling while characters speak and we don't hear what they say? Most of whom (despite their tear-y, choked up faces NEVER seem to have interacted much with him? His freaking application video name-dropping Meredith and highlighting his "helping people" motivation? The dark, rainy parking lot? Even at my current covid-depression frazzled state in which I can tear up at a shampoo commercial or weep because I'm all out of potato chips all the emotional response that scene gave me was a frustrated eye-roll.

Although it's not unusual for people to change over to different fandoms from time to time - it's usually done with following a theme or interest like going from one sci-fi to another in the same genre. I feel guilty for my mutuals because the majority of my fandom interests are so different from each other, that it becomes incredibly inconsistent for anyone following me.

Look, I get that these shows still have audiences. But I'm so sick of great characters being completely ruined by shows being dragged on well past when they should be ended. Supernatural. Grey's Anatomy. The Simpsons. Dexter. And so many others. They start out great and last a while great. But then they drag on and on and the creators don't know how to quit. And a once great show is ruined. There are few things that annoy me more.

I’m so narcissistic about long-running TV shows. If I stop watching something, and it’s still going several years later, the way I think about the show takes on this weird element of bafflement that it has continued, as though my brain believes the show’s relevance to me personally was what was driving it before, and on some subconscious level I just assumed when it stopped being relevant to me personally it would peter out.

“It is still relevant to many, many people,” I tell my Id.

“Sounds fake but OK,” says my Id.

I used to think I could beta for someone, no problem, especially if the story showed promise! I'm realizing now that this is false, promising story it not. If you catch me at the tail end of my current fandom rotation...the number you are trying to reach is no longer in service.

Good news: it's a rotation, I will come back!
Bad news: I'm sorry new fanfic writer, for volunteering my services, getting slammed with a bunch of IRL shit, and then just fading and never betaine your promising story I really liked. :(

It's happened to me before too, and while it wasn't deep at all to me, still not nice to do.

I respect no one as much as femslash shippers who are ride-or-die for their ship that features the only 2 female characters in the canon, who never interact with each other and have no real character traits

That's real strength of character there

I don't know how Star Wars droids just keep getting cuter and cuter with each installment but they sure do. I didn't think BB-8 could be beat but then BD-1 happened aaaaand I just don't understand why droids are so gosh darn cute!

I'm so tired of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and related merchandise being peddled front and center on the anime and gaming sites I visit. It's gotten even more annoying than My Hero Academia and that's saying something. I know this is just how it is when it comes to popular shonen shows cycling every couple years but Demon Slayer is seriously pushing my buttons.

Thing is, I'd probably enjoy Demon Slayer if I gave it the chance... but now I'm so irritated with all the ads for it that I never want to see it again!

I'm beginning to viscerally hate the ads for the Penny and Flo game...because they're too damn interesting and I KNOW the game will be some tired-ass match game with barely a semblance of this more interesting plot.

Some of the ads: Penny's grandma murders her cheating boyfriend, Penny's cheating boyfriend is cheating with Flo and they dump him and live together, Penny accidentally throws a woman off a balcony...the game couldn't possibly live up.

My main fandom seems like there's a ticking drama timebomb and I really don't want to lose it because I've really connected with some of the people in a fan discord. I used to be worried about what I'd do about that when I inevitably stop caring for it so much... now I'm worried there will be a mass exhodus because no one's said anything about people who leave the fandom still being allowed in the discord.

A set of 31 different stud earrings in quality materials (sterling silver or 14k), that is reasonably priced. You can buy costume sets like this already, but they don't last because they're made from cheap base metals (not to mention turning your earlobes green/nickel allergies).

I was kinda bored with the plot of the book I’m writing. Then, this morning, I was lying in bed just imagining stuff, as you do, and I came up with an awesome plot twist that totally solved my boredom problem and added more tropey goodness to my plot. Thought more about it later after I got up and, yep, still good.

Now, I’m just worried it might be too weird for my readers.

I relate on the "waking up with an idea" thing. Instead it was a book, which I am setting in a universe I was wanting to write an UF reality fashion tv show comic for? And now I'm all "Okay studio higher up and actor were-jaguar romance that refuses to follow romance genre conventions. Sure. Why not."

And then I saw a trailer the other day for a movie and the basic plot idea gave me a book idea for my Heathens series that ties up a plot thread from book one and segues into a plot thread about why main character ended up leaving the military. And it's like "Cool, cool, but there are like 5 to 7 books before I get there. But Cool."

My editor has recently reread all 3 books of my Heathens series in order and is now going "write book 4" Sure, that's great motivation. (Is posting Book 1 serially to Wattpad/Royal Road/Blog.) thanks editor. ROFL
