Oof, that's exasperating. :/

Honestly sometimes I do click on a fic that wasn't what I was expecting but if there were things about it I did like enough to warrant a comment, I just, y'know, try to focus on the stuff that "you wrote especially well". I'm sure lots of people enjoyed the porny bits or whatever and will praise them for those, hahah.

I've had The Killer For The Pies from "Blaseball the Musical: The Deaths of Sebastian Telephone" stuck in my head on and off for a couple weeks. The other earworms I've had are not worth talking about.

Awww, The Rocketeer! I loved that movie. (And the comic book, too!)

as a writer who sometimes does off the wall stuff, it's all in the phrasing. I would never take a proper compliment as the commentator trying to prove they're not like the other girls. start with praising what you really did like, then slip in "[X tagged thing] isn't my usual jam but you made me like it!" at the end. Completely a compliment, no harm no foul, and I'd even go so far as to say any writer who got angry at it at that point, the reaction says more terrible things about them than it does about you the reader.

"We're ARKS!" from PSO2 is the CATCHIEST. SONG. EVER. You can't not dance to this one. It's just so good.

What is everyone doing this weekend?

I hopefully will be doing nothing except listening to the new NoSleep and going on early morning walks. Fingers are crossed!

I have nothing planned other than the usual housecleaning/litterbox chores and continuing to poke at the fic that is driving me absolutely insane. I'm glad nothing's going on in PoGo this weekend so I can rest up for Go Fest.

Kinda sad at the moment because my brother's band is playing their first show since the pandemic started at an open-air venue for free (there's a theatre in town with an iconic old-school marquee, and they're actually playing from atop the marquee with the crowd below on the street - super cool idea!) and I forgot about it until they were already in their set because I only found out yesterday when I was lacking sleep.

I 100% believe that Kripke is uninterested in doing anything further with Jarpad. He's kind of a dick, and also, not that great of an actor.

Lots of sleep. Very tired. Watching some Babylon 5 because I got the sudden urge to rewatch today. Spending time with kitty to make up with not being here during the day this past week.

Personally I think, "I'm not usually into [type of fic] but [praise for fic which is exception to one's personal rule]" is high praise, and is undoubtedly meant as a such. Someone is saying your writing is so good it sold them on something they are disinclined to like.

But that's very, very different than, "I would like this fic more if it weren't the type of fic it is," which is just a criticism, and not even a useful one at that.

I can 100% relate to the feeling of "If this porn were less porn and more story, maybe I would actually enjoy it," because pure porn just doesn't do anything for me (with very, very rare exceptions). But I would never leave a comment to that effect on someone's work because, like, they obviously know what they wrote. Pretty sure it's pure porn on purpose, lol.

I watched all of Supernatural and don't have the faintest desire to watch Walker or anything else he's in. I didn't dislike the Sam character, either.

I hope you enjoy your walks! I just started my period and have to work tomorrow, but I have Sunday off and I may just run errands and read, especially if it's hot out. If it's cool or overcast I may go on a walk with my aunt.
