It was through gifs, but I got into GoT from Jaime/Brienne gifs. I actually read several long endgame fanfics before I started watching.

I joined the Silmarillion fandom thanks to a fic. I stumbled across a Sauron/Celebrimbor fic on the Hobbit kink meme, fell in love with the pairing and characters, and decided to read the Silmarillion. I fell in love with the book, the fandom, and everything and it has been my number one fandom ever since.

Toby Macguire's spider man in the MCU instead of kid spider man.

Dean Cain's superman/clark kent in everything because his is the best version. Second choice would be Tom Wellington's version.

the new Dune movie with the movie-level budget, but with mostly the cast from the miniseries.

The cast of the most well known A Little Princess adaption, but the storyline of the less well known adaption that is more faithful to the book.

I'm very into theatre, so there are so many circumstances where I'll be like "man, I wish half the original cast and half the revival could be in the same show."

- Much Ado About Nothing: 2012 RSC Benedick (David Tennant) and 2019 Shakespeare in the Park Beatrice (Danielle Brooks)

- Falsettos: Marvin, Trina, and Mendel from the Original Broadway Cast; Whizzer, Jason, Charlotte, and Cordelia from the 2016 revival

- Cabaret: Literally just the 1998 revival but with Liza Minnelli. She's not even my favorite Sally, I just want to see 1972-era Liza in an amazing stage version that wasn't butchered like the movie.

Er, just to clarify - it's my intention to make all the secrets left in this thread, so even if they're not marked claimed, they will be made.

A novel titled "Dark Rise", okay. A plot that centers around the fight between the Dark and Light, sure, it's tried and true old classic. A group of (possibly immortal) people who stand watch as guardians for the Light? The protagonist named Will who is kinda the chosen one in the last great battle against The Dark alongside those guardians... wait a minute.

Like, I'm not saying C.S.Parcat is necessarily intentionally plagiarizing but she might have at least googled the title of her own novel. If I found out about a different YA fantasy classic that sounded just a bit too similar to what I wrote, I might have,idk, at least changed the protagonist's name, just in case.

I know a lot of people love Thoma from the latest Genshin Impact update but to me, he's just too similar to Childe for him to be interesting - both his character design and his character (if a bit less ... unhinged? At least so far.)

I strongly disliked Angel even at the time, but going back and rewatching bits of Buffy and Angel now, I’m realising how much I really want to grab him by the neck and just fling him out into the full blast of California sunshine. I’m not even fully sure WHY, he just opens his mouth and I reflexively want to punch his face in. Apparently over the years my initial dislike has festered into seething hatred, and I’ve no idea why.

(I mean, yes, I find him smug, melodramatic and self-absorbed, but I wouldn’t have thought to quite that homicidal an extent)

I don't think I'll ever get tired of vampire stories, even though post-Twilight vampire media can be kind of hit or miss at best. I prefer historical settings vs. modern. I wouldn't mind modern settings quite so much except that I can't stop thinking about IRL people who think they're vampires and it's almost always super cringeworthy amd pathetic. Or they're serial killers. Both those groups ruin modern vampire stories for me.

Secret: Whenever I read fic that uses words like "weeping", "curious", "hungry" or "greedy" to describe certain body parts, I immediately start thinking of fancy wine reviews. Something like "A deep and drinkable purplish-red cock, with aromas of salty skin and rich musk-gushing and racy notes that make it a perfect combination with a greedy, winking asshole featuring a curious and hungry personality."

Not a Secret: I love fic and I love wine.

I felt sorry for Frill. I know she's a monster, but it's not really her fault. That's not the secret. The secret is that I don't get why they just tossed Frill in the basement after she killed that one guy's wife instead of, I don't know, destroying her or deactivating her or something.

Half the time shows can't live up to the plot my brain makes up based on its Netflix thumbnail picture. This is especially true of modern setting C-dramas and K-dramas.

Its annoying when people claim to celebrate fanfiction as a way to fix a bad story or to give characters a better story -
and yet judge people on the fandoms they write or read fanfiction for.

I hate the show South Park and haven't watched it since series 15 ended, but I love where the fanfiction ages the characters up and explores how they cope with everything they've been through in the show.

I care more about the costume and set designs of Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries than the characters. I have a hard time paying attention to the actual stories because of it.

I’ve been using the pandemic as an excuse not to get to know my new next door neighbors but really it’s because I think it’s cringey to give kids blatant fandom names. I don’t like being around those types of fans and could never be friends with them.

Are "Ask Character /OC" Blogs still a thing?

I'm thinking of making an OC ask blog centered around the idea of a "supernatural advice blog" and use it to build the world. But I'm wondering if it's even worth it. I felt nostalgic for that method of ..idk could it be considered a webcomic?


I mean I guess if not I could just make it a webcomic on tapas or something.
