It is getting hotter and hotter. Also, I am so sick of my boss being on my ass and pressuring me to do shit I can't actually make happen. He is just making my job harder than it needs to be.

Other than the usual unrelenting physical pain, things are going weirdly well. My job has been kicking my butt since last week, but I'm learning things and getting stuff done so it's good. Somehow I wound up having a one-on-one meeting with one of my org's VPs today to discuss a thing I'm doing for his department, and I'm kind of boggling that I am somehow competent (or even adult) enough to be meeting alone with a VP without a manager there to be an actual expert voice.

And my bunny who fell sick last week is doing so much better. Still having trouble doing his business in the litterbox so I am scrubbing the carpet a lot and sweeping up stray poops, but I don't care because he's still here and today he stood up on his hind legs (kinda wobbly, but he made it) to beg for his afternoon treats. <3 (Since I uploaded these for someone who asked over on my journal, a couple pics of my little dude. Second one is pre-illness.)

I'm pretty short tempered today. I want to do something but don't want to do anything. Just unmotivated and unhappy.

Spent most of today preparing for my first hearing (in this job) tomorrow afternoon. Prepared some other motions and things as well. It was a very productive day.

Exhausted now since my cat responded to being alone all day yesterday by being wild all night. I'm probably going to bed pretty early.

I called into work at about 1 am because my psycho cat escaped around 7 last night, and the difference in her behavior indoors and out is like Jekyll and Hyde. The wife of her previous owner dropped her at the pound because she was "terrified" of her, and if they let her out a lot I can see why. The humane society said she was easily overstimulated but weren't sure how she'd handle the outdoors or other animals.

Inside she nips but otherwise loves being a lap cat and getting petted, doesn't mind being picked up, and is generally pretty mellow. She loves people, even people she's never met before.

Turns out outside makes her nuts and people and other animals are to be avoided and yowled at and/or attacked.

I'd caught her in some bushes at about 4am and then she bit my dominant hand hard enough that I dropped her. Then she came in on her own at around 7:30 am to eat, drink, and after 12 hours in the great outdoors, use her litter box.

She hadn't had a rabies booster in at least 4 years, right before I brought her home, so I brought her to the vet to get shots today.

She fought me going in to a new fabric carrier that my hens and roommate's cat (who hates carriers and the vet way more than mine) and kitten all seem to like better than the hard plastic ones, so now I have long scratches from my armpit to my shoulder.

My last tetanus shot was in 2015 so I think I'm okay? I'm tired and really don't want to go to the doctor. There's no red streaks or swelling around the bite 12 hours later, a little redness around the biggest puncture but I dumped iodine on it as soon as I got inside.

Whew, I'm glad you found her... I saw that comment thread this morning and was hoping it turned out okay. The scratches and biting suck, admittedly. :/

i know a lot of jobs these days are about who you know rather than what you know but wow

I wish my executive function would function when there's not a crisis to focus my anxiety like a laser. Especially on day to day stuff like housecleaning. My surroundings literally horrify me and I can't do more than skim off the top layer of "ugh, ew" before my brain shuts off.

It's not laziness when I've clocked over six miles of walking a day this year, on top of my full time job and have maxed out on accrued vacation days more than once, and it's not really depression except insofar as my inability to make and keep my surroundings clean and organized feels shitty.

I also have hoarder tendencies but that feels like an extension of the same problem in some ways, idk.

I will have a little more time in my day thanks to a shorter commute soon, and I'm hoping I can set a timer for ten minutes morning and evening to do housekeeping stuff.

I mostly manage laundry, dishes, scooping the cat box, and watering the plants, but sometimes I have a bad stretch where those are a struggle too.

But those are still so much easier than keeping floors and counters clean and putting stuff away, and finishing projects is like scaling Everest without an oxygen tank.

Idk if I have autism, ADHD, or my one relative with the PhD is right and it's just brain damage, or maybe it's all three, idk I just wish I could fix it.

I am on holiday for the next 7 days and i do wanna decompress a bit. i do have some plans but mostly gonna chill out and do somw decluttering / rearranging / donating

Thankfully, that suit it the outlier. All the other ones are great (even the purposefully silly USO one).

I've never been a fan of Vivian's Pretty Woman derby outfit. It just didn't feel vivacious like she was. The red dress though... fantastic!

Honestly most makeovers are the worst for me because most often it is female characters and most often it is done because she wasn't pretty enough before to get the guy/do whatever she's supposed to do in the movie. And I just hate that as a plot point in general.

One thing I love is when female action characters are wearing a dress and need to fight, and they just modify their dress right there for practicality. That's always fun.
