da- yea it's very clearly being either encouraged or outright prompted by the showrunners to squeeze a narrative out of people. when you start watching episodes of these shows back-to-back it gets super obvious and i always skip past those parts

I don't have anything valuable to say OP, sorry. I already know I have a thing for older men and a daddy kink (although not for me personally, just in fic); and I had a great relationship with my father. I know they're linked stereotypically, but I don't think they *have* to be.

Unless you find yourself *actually* attracted to your father, then I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I am writing a fanfic for Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid. I'm planning to put it under an entirely seperate account far removed from my main account because I know it rubs lots of people the wrong way.

I'm very nervous and conflicted about this and I hope I don't get hate.

I just really like the possibilities of the setting. And underdeveloped mage community that doesn't have an arbitrary aversion to modern technology

I used to think kinning was harmless silliness, but now I think fans should be actively discouraged from getting into it. You're lucky you got someone with the decency to just block you. But I believe validating kinnies' feelings has played a big part in getting fan culture as toxic as it is. It's a way to threaten and cyberbully other fans for writing characters the way they want, because they can say "That character is LITERALLY ME, so you're disrespecting and hurting ME when you do that to them" so instead of knowing they're just bullies, they see themselves as standing up for themselves and fighting for their agency.

Just once I'd like a show/movie I have an OTP in to end with both of those characters still around and still alive. They're either split up by death or distance and it's bumming me out. I don't expect them to actually get together, I just want some hope.
