I always rolled my eyes at the idea of Holmes/Watson until I saw The Empty House from the TV series with Jeremy Brett and Edward Hardwicke, and I found myself thinking, "Watson is SO GAY for Holmes!! Look at that, he fucking FAINTED!" And it doesn't help that Brett's Holmes is fabulous!

Newsflash: people are not perfect. and no one out there will share all your likes and dislikes 100%. Your boyfriend is into watching Battlestar Galactica (which you find boring and dull) and your best friend loves the Keira Knightley version of Pride and Prejudice more than the one with Colin Firth (heresy!)

So your friend likes Twilight. And in return you probably own the entire series of Charmed on DVD. Or you've seen High School Musical fifteen million times.

That's the thing with relationships - you compromise. You take the bad with the good. If you cannot accept that the people around you might like things you do not like, you'll never have a lasting relationship with anyone.
