I mean they're about two completely different characters, so if you prefer Peter over Miles then you'll probably like MCU-verse more?

I think a lot of the reason fans disliked the MCU was because up until NWH, Peter had too much external support and fancy gear to feel like regular Peter (from the comics or previous films). While people don't have so much knowledge about comic Miles to begin with, so they're less likely to have problems with his film adaptation if there are any issues. Another thing is that Spiderverse is a really good standalone movie. I like the MCU Spidermovies too, but they require more background knowledge since they are all MCU sequels after all.

Personality-wise, I think MCU Peter is a great Peter. It's just that he got so tied up in everything else I dislike about the MCU that I don't enjoy watching his movies because he doesn't feel like Spiderman to me.

I can't watch Spider-Verse, in the literal sense.

The choppy framerate on Miles, especially when on screen with other characters using a different framerate, does something to my head where I get a splitting headache.

Both are good, so I don’t get why anyone pits them against each other. I’m assuming you don’t react with the same resentment to people’s honest and non-disparaging opinions about liking Spider-Verse as you do to people acting more rude and snobby about it. Because we’ve all been there when it comes to being annoyed by snobs who act like if you don’t share their opinions, you’re somehow lesser. Either way you’ve already acknowledged that it’s irrational to feel this way, and I can sympathize with feeling irrational about things. And I love Spider-Verse enough I might feel the way you do about the Holland Spider-Man movies if the situation were flipped. But that would only be if I wasn’t a fan of Holland’s Spider-Mean.

Which I am. I personally think that if it weren’t for Into the Spider-Verse, Homecoming would be the best Spider-Man movie(although while I do love the first Amazing Spider-Man, and begrudgingly like Spider-Man 1 & especially 2 despite not liking Tobey Maguire’s acting, I don’t think they’re very good as adaptations of the character like Holland’s are). I enjoyed most of Far From Home, even though it wasn’t nearly as good as a follow up. And Spider-Man was the best part of Civil War, which I otherwise hated. I haven’t seen Infinity War or Endgame, and probably never will. And I most likely won’t see No Way Home, because it features too much Doctor Strange, and I hate the MCU’s take on the character I otherwise like, including not liking Brambleby Applewatch as Strange. I don’t blame him, just the scripts he was given. So I haven’t seen the majority of Holland’s Spider-Man, but I still think he fantastic.


TL;DR: Even though I haven’t seen all the Holland Spider-Man movies/scenes, I think he’s a very strong Peter Parker and Spider-Man, and a delight to watch. I think Into the Spider-Verse is a fantastic movie, and the greatest introduction I could have asked for to my fave Spider-Man Miles Morales to the big screen, and for potential newbies to the character. I also think it’s the best Spider-Man movie, and a masterpiece of animation. But I like both Spider-Verse and Holland-Man so much that I don’t get why anyone should be disparaging over either, and I don’t think said disparaging from random people should bring out other people’s resentment for either one. But sometimes you can’t control how you feel, and it doesn’t really mean anything about you as a person.

[Anti MCU you might want to avoid, nothing but feelings in this paragraph] Spiderverse is a fun movie with cool animation while I viscerally hate the MCU's version of Spiderman. Not just because I feel they cannibalized Miles' best traits into a watered down Peter Parker but they also made Tony Stark absolutely irredeemable in my eyes. I think they're so bad it's Sony's attempt to ruin the MCU's biggest star. I think it's Sony's revenge. I think - hang on I've got my tin foil over here - [Fin]

So yeah, I get how infuriating it is to have a really non-mainstream opinion about a mainstream thing. It's not fun and it makes you want to avoid all conversation around the thing.

Huh. I had the exact opposite experience. All I heard about these two was that they were basically married, and I went in expecting to see at least a fun friendship, and didn't even get that out of it, personally.

Not saying you're wrong, and I'm usually not any kind of anti-shipper, just interesting in how different our experiences were.

Everyone knows, especially with season 2, that Jaskier had better chemistry with Yennefer and Geralt than Yennefer and Geralt had with each other.

They make sense as a ship tbh because they have a dynamic that would appeal to some people, it just doesn't work for me because you have to make up Geralt giving half a shit about Jaskier's feelings and I personally find that difficult to work with.

Post-sickness issues

Is it normal to still feel completely exhausted, body and brain, after you are over a flu?

At least, fever and sore throat have been gone for 3 days, and the cough for 2. Yet I still have no energy at all and barely made it through the morning at work before I had to go work from home for the afternoon. I still feel like a truck hit me.
