Why do I have the feeling that you agree with his methods, but not Light Yagami who actually tried to kill miscreants rather than have a massive amount of collateral damage.

Actually, I would argue that the great thing about Watchmen is that there is no definitive point. Adrian could be a hero or a monster, depending on the morals and thoughts of the person who read/watches him.

This secret made me laugh. What on earth makes you think that going to Cambridge means you're too sensible to take drugs? I got interviewed for the British Crime survey a few years ago, and one of the questions was "Do you know where you can get illegal drugs? How many different people do you know that you could get them from?" All but one of the half dozen or so people that I thought of went to Cambridge, and the other one was one of their brothers.

Think about it, the guy spends a gabajillion dollars on tachyon particle research to manipulate Dr. Manhattan into being emo and going to Mars? Why could he not just have had him disarm the nukes instead. Kill tons of people vs. kill nobody.
