A lot of old JRock for nostalgia reasons, but for something more well known - Achilles Come Down by Gang of Youths hits hard as fuck.

Tears in Heaven, by Eric Clapton. It was all over the airwaves when my grandfather died, and I'll always associate the song with that.

Where You Are, by October Project, which I associate with the deaths of some close friends.

Dante’s Prayer by Loreena McKinnett, definitely.

It hasn’t done that for a while, but Don’t Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult did this for about a year. I was going through a terrible spike of depression at the time, so it was easy to make me cry. But it was a “this is beautiful” ugly cry, not a “this is sad” ugly cry. And the reason it was so touching for me is that it was used in a sweet fanvid for a character that recently died in canon.

Speaking of which, one of the most recent songs to make me ugly cry, this time both for sad and beautiful reasons is Friend, the credits song for the season 8 finale of RWBY. I, like many others in the fandom, embody that “Lay down, try not to cry, cry a lot” meme when I listen to it and think of a certain character I’m still not over the fate of. It’s so unfair, I don’t know if I’ll be over it anytime soon. Please don’t judge me, although you can laugh at me if you want!

And lastly, the other most recent song to make me cry every time is A Million Miles Away from Belle. It’s definitely for beautiful reasons, and I always think of the scene that song is sung in, which was one of the most touching scenes I’ve seen in a while!

Honorable mention goes to Dos Oruguitas from Encanto, and it’s English version. It’s only an honorable mention and not an actual example because I don’t cry literally every time I hear it, just sometimes.

It must be said that I’m going through another bad spike of depression lately, not helped by my absolutely fucked up circadian rhythm, which might explain why all these recent examples bring on the waterworks for me. Because I usually don’t cry too easily at any song besides Dante’s Prayer. And when my depression isn’t spiked, and my sleep schedule is somewhat normal, I rarely cry at all outside of when I’m menstruating. So my mental state could be better, obviously. Not that I’m in a unique position with that, of course.

Today, I did NOT let myself be bullied into "just tasting" a meal at a meddling aunt's place. Firm "no thank you" and then sat back and enjoyed my coffee. Just coffee. Nice coffee. Coffee understands.

Well, I'd say grocery shop, but that's usually dependent upon my mood and I'm the one who set the expectation on myself, lol.

Y'know what? Good on you for standing up for yourself! I've let myself be bullied into eating too many meals that I either hated or was outright allergic to (and yes, the person bullying me knew I was allergic).

...I'm a people pleaser, so I very much hated pretty much everything I did for work today and then apologized to people for not getting it all done faster. :/

So far I have NOT taken a walk around the trails despite it being 72 degrees and sunny, because my legs ache from walking around there twice yesterday (once in cosplay) and my guts hate me for trying to hydrate myself and I still feel wonky from no sleep last night + too much coffee this morning. But I am not enjoying not taking a walk. I feel guilty for slacking.
