That really sucks though. I know it's not quite the same, but are there any ships in bigger fandoms with similar dynamics? If there are, you may have a chance of finding a decent enough AU where you can Ctrl+Replace names...

Sending hugs, OP....... I've fallen into a fandom where, so far, I am literally the only one who wrote stuff for my OTP. It is a fairly young fandom, but with nowadays puritanical atmosphere I am not holding my breath for anyone to also jump into the wagon, considering the ship is P R O B L E M A T I C

Totally, anon. These stories often seem to have a "oh, look! No parents tee hee life is so fun because you are so young and freeeeee!" appeal to them, too. Either that or a lot of triggering drama. So I can't enjoy this stuff anymore, either... which means I can't enjoy PLENTY of works. I feel you.
