There was a lot of manufactured hype, and companies are just as vulnerable to that in some ways as consumers are. Plus, if you're not very familiar with the realities of NFTs, it looks at first glance like it's just free money for nothing. Of course that's going to be appealing to a lot of companies.

I think it's dying off, though.

There are some twists I love that people write off as "lazy twists to impress people on Twitter". And there are honestly very few twists where I feel like it's truly a result of laziness or just trying to play to the cheap seats.

It's been too long since I watched FMA to remember Hawkeye's motivations. I do remember her being kickass though. What are some other female characters that fit this trope? I can't think of any examples which is weird because I love tough badass women and loyalty/devotion is my favourite thing.

(And my favourite character is a tough badass man whose motivation revolves around his devotion to another man. Sorry OP, can't really relate.)

You might want to look into beginners writing groups/classes - even if you're used to writing fics, its still opened to give advice and more room to be imperfect (when I went to one - I used characters from Naruto as characters bases but with different names since it was all for practice).
