Before 2020 I was learning to swim as an adult and one of the things that helped was the anime Free!
I learned to float and how to do a backstroke because of the episode they were giving advice to each other and because Makoto is my favorite character.

Now I'm kind of dying to know what people are saying... Like, are they forming opinions without watching ANY of it? Because like, even in the first episode it's sweet (yes Chise has a traumatic past but her interactions with her 'new' home/family are not).

Hahaha same! In recent years I’ve actually grown to dislike his real personality and not just some parts of the bombastic Jezza persona (and they are and always have been two very distinctly different things). But I still adore him and find him ridiculously sexy.
