Sorry you are sick. having jaw pain again today. It was better for a little while, but today was stressful and I started spasming again. Also have a splitting headache.

In my room with an icepack and my kitty, hoping to relax for a little while.

I'm here feeling better than I have in a while. I've been in pain for so long. And medical marijuana is not legal in my state. But someone on reddit mentioned these gummies that have a kind/low enough level of THC that is considered hemp and is legal. And I took one an hour ago and it is already working better than any painkiller I've tried.

My workplace is chronically understaffed. It's a plague. So when I read an email this morning saying "we keep exceeding the personnel budget, so we have to change some things", I got angry. I think everyone is angry. Whoever is in charge of the budget needs to be forced to do our jobs for a month. Then they can decide where all the money I know they have because they keep spending it on other things should go.

I feel you. My previous job regularly expected staff to do two-person tasks alone and somehow man two floors, alone, then get disciplined when we inevitably got shoplifted to fuck. Meanwhile our management couldn't possibly come in to assist us because they had pressing matters like... attending a local Comic Con. Yes, this was a genuine reason given.

I don't know your situation OP, but I hope you manage to escape, or that the working environment improves at least. You deserve way better.

I usually try to start a new thread before all the secrets from the last thread have been submitted, just to give myself a buffer of secrets while I work on the new batch. However, I try to submit all the old secrets before submitting any new ones, though there is frequently an overlap so you'll see secrets from both the older and newer comment threads. Keep in mind that even if secrets have been submitted, there's always a delay between actual posting. But if you think there's a secret I've missed (and that's always possible, the threads get very long these days!) please feel free to give me a shoutout in the General Comments.

I really love the thing (see it a lot in Wuxia/Xianxia) where a group of people is talking/sharing (often hilariously inaccurate) gossip about someone when unbeknownst to them, that very someone is in the same room and hears everything. Don't care whether they reveal they overheard it or not.

It's super silly and done to death but I still love it. I think it has to do with my love of outsider POVs.

Heroic sacrifice, either the main hero sacrificing themselves in some way to save the world or a group of minor heroes sacrificing themselves so the main hero can win. Either type I'm a sucker for every time.

Also, give me all the dark, villain wins!AUs or in general fiction where the villains have already won and now the heroes have to retake the world/universe/multiverse.

The Power of Friendship saves the world.

The woobie who was forced to be a weapon because of their unnatural strength but they're really sweet and only want to use their strength to protect others. Also the robot version of the trope that's programmed to be a weapon and gains the free will to override it.

The villain is creepy and sexual towards the hero. Yeah, yeah, it's problematic or whatever but give me ALL of the non- or dubious-consensual sexual tension between hero and villain, please.

Another vote for heroic self-sacrifice. Also "we were best friends/family but now we must fight to the death".

I have a friend who's heavy into Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas and told me some stuff about characters who show up late in the series, so I started watching that and hooooboy does that scratch those itches. (Admittedly the battles are largely sort of ridiculous shounen "But you haven't seen my FINAL attack!" and "Ha - I fooled you into thinking I used all my power but I haven't!" type stuff but ohhhh the character/plot tropes...)
