So the majority of my main fandom has just decided that two characters are going to have sex next season and act like it's definitely, 100% going to happen. Given the fact that they're both kind of awful people and are semi-enemies (and not even in that "I hate you but I secretly really want you" kind of way), I highly doubt it. I can see how they MIGHT become friends next season if some sort of mutual enemy shows up, but I think it would be OOC and bad writing if they slept together. It'd be disappointing, and I really hope it doesn't happen.

I'm so tired of fandom's insistence that if they like two characters, they totally need to bang in fandom, even if it would make no sense. That's what fanfic is for!

Anyway. Anyone want to complain about dumb fandom things?

Fandom made me crack open a bottle today. Imagine, being so disillusioned with the state of the internet that it drives you to drink. Who's got two thumbs and can't wait for 2022 to be over: this bitch. Welp, I'm off to hunt for Gimli nudes, proper closing as any to the year.

Just tired of characters being flanderized by fans who exaggerate some quality, take something out of context as evidence this quality is as pronounced as it is, and ignore everything else that makes that character the character that they actually are. Because we have no well-rounded or complex characters here if they dare do something derpy one time lulz nope, they are only defined by that one thing forever and ever.

I'm gonna get "OK Boomer" shit for this next part and that's fine, but this is why I prefer fans closer to my age in my fandom. And obviously, I won't get on someone's case just for joking around, we all do that. But when the fandom's overrun by younger people, the jokes take on a life of their own until it's damn near canon and they never shut the fuck up, oh my god. Like we haven't heard the same damn thing 500 times today, does that ever occur to them? (Yes, I get it, that's what young folks do in large groups, and fans have the right to get excited or even carried away. It doesn't mean I like being around it.)

Because I overheard some asshole talking about how mixed-breeds are apparently worthless today, and as someone who's owned mutts all their life I felt personally attacked. So please cheer me up by gushing about your mixed puppers. Cat owners are welcome too.

I have three domestic moggies of unknown ancestry and they are all of them complete joys. Good-tempered, intelligent, and loving.

Julius was the dog my family had the longest. His mother was border collie and his father was half wolf (no info was ever given about the other half, but I'd have to guess it was another mutt). He was very yellow and looked kinda like a labrador on a bad fur day on roids. Most people feared him because he was very large, but in reality he was the most docile and friendly dog ever. We actually had trouble feeding him because he wouldn't scare the sparrows off his foodbowl (he was an outdoor dog).

all of our dogs and cats have been adopted bitzers and have been incredible companions for the short time they were in our lives. I’m not sure what breed my current cat is but I’m sure he’s just a moggy bitzer from a street litter. pure breeds are too expensive and you should absolutely always adopt rather than shop anyway

Considering how many pure breeds wouldn't exist without the existence of mixed breeds, it really is a stupid comment.

Mixed or no, THEY'RE GOOD DOGS BRENT.

I grew up with a dog who was definitely a mutt and he was a great companion who lived a long, healthy life.

My cat now was adopted from a shelter and is part Siamese, part "domestic shorthair." (I only know about the Siamese part because you can tell from some of her coloring.) She's lovely and so affectionate.

The only "purebred" anything I've ever owned are chickens, and the oldest, an appenzeller spitzhauben (sp?) lived to be nine. Two of the feed store Easter Eggers (some percentage Ameraucana x who tf knows) lived to be 14, and one made it to 16.

Both my mutt dogs (some percentage unknown spaniel x whatever) lived to be 16.

My roommate's black half siamese half street cat is coming up on 19.

My long haired blue cat is technically a mutt, but, just like my previous passed on one, isn't aging gracefully; she's a scrawny scabby bone bag at nineish. Still love her though.

Mixed breeds avoid a lot of problems, given that a lot of pedigree lines are now more inbred than the Hapsburg family.

My exSO got our (his) rescue pupper's DNA tested. She's about 70 pounds, mostly black, with some German Shepherd-type brown on her paws and shins. Short-haired, mostly floppy ears, tail curves up.
She is: American Staffordshire Terrier
German Shepherd Dog
Golden Retriever
Labrador Retriever
Mixed-breed Groups

She's one silly gog, but also very sweet and totally devoted. She used to always come lean on the backs of my legs while I did the dishes, and she follows me or exSO wherever we go in the house. She's also a scaredy-cat, heh.

All our cats (three) are rescues and mixed, two black (one short-haired, one fluffy), and one tuxedo. I would never have a 'pure bred' over a mutt of any kind.

Oh, dude! Mutts are the best! Am I biased because my dog was two different breeds? Sure! But she was such a wonderful doggie! I love her and miss her very much. Mutts tend to be pretty smart/clever too! And beautiful! No hate on purebred dogs, love them too! But my dog was more or less a trial run that ended up staying with us. Mutts all the way! Especially because I find those are the ones you find in shelters a lot too! Anyway, people who talk shit about mutts have never had one. Their loss!

I love both of my mutts! I’ve had the one for almost nine years and he’s amazing, sweetest dog I’ve ever met. Last month I found another mutt who had been dumped, poor thing had been abused and he was starving. He also turned out to have some pretty severe health problems so we ended up not being able to afford Christmas this year but as far as I’m concerned, he’s better than all of the presents we would have exchanged.

I have a chiweenie (a dachshund/chihuahua cross) and a long haired stray cat that I know even less about regarding his breed (he has long silky hair and is big lol). They are both big cuddlebugs and I love them so much!

Why do I even need pure breeds?

Speaking of. There is a person in my twitter who've bought pure breed from some dodgy place. And now they spend a lot of money because their cat is full to its ears of illnesses.
Also it's a matter of taste of course, but I find this breed extremely ugly. Like why this shit is even exist ugly.

i know n=2 says shit, but the pure bred cats I've personally met were both very sickly cats with constant vet visits & loads of expenses for upkeep.

One of my three dogs is a mutt, and she’s the sweetest pet I’ve ever had! Just so cute and affectionate, and shy around new people instead of being rowdy! Elitist assholes need to stfu! Breeding doesn’t determine the worth of a dog, no animals are worthless!

Someone I once I knew said that they thought people who bought designer pets might even love their pets more than people who got rescue pets. Because they "chose" them or some such bullshit.

For unrelated reasons I am no longer their friend, but for reasons like the above I'm not sorry about it.
