This thread gives me hope for those of us who're both Christian and gay-friendly :).

This site seems to agree a bit. (http://www.wouldjesusdiscriminate.org/biblical_evidence/gay_couple.html) I'm not sure he was liberal and gay-friendly, but he said a gay man had incredible faith. Not many churches say that.

Christianity isn't supposed to be a hateful religion by any means. Jesus Christ taught that you should love your fellow man, regardless of the sins they commit. And if said sinners asked for forgiveness, they would go to the Kingdom of God. (I'm not even a Christian and I know this, haha;;;.)

I have to interject here. I was a Christian for several years (tl;dr reasons why I'm agnostic now), but they usually condemned it outside marriage, but would admit that it's as much for strengthening the husband-wife bond, and for pleasure, as it was for reproduction.

There are some fundies who do believe what you said above, but not all :]
