I mean. We saw how that went with Steven Universe. Cartoon Network tried to run them off, then finally gave them a cut-off to finish things because they fought for the gay wedding that wouldn't allow censoring.

now now you gotta give credit to the higher-ups who make show runners lives a nightmare to work with WHILE the show is in production.

(This makes me think of how waaay back in series three of Adventure Time, there was a discussion video that was posted under Cartoon network's account where somebody lightly suggested that there might have been romantic history between Bubblegum and Marceline, and the studio shut that channel down so fast for it.)

I think it's more that the networks won't let them and the creators fight like hell to get *any* representation in. So yes, I agree with you, and when it happens it's great, but it's not the creators fearing fundies that is the problem. It's cowardly networks.

I agree with you but the creators aren't the ones calling the shots on that front, it's the networks making them push queer-content back out of fear of pissing off the fundie twats, they're the making that choice not the people making these shows.

Batman, as a character, has a much wider range than Superman. He's a much weirder character conceptually than Superman. Writing him as a paragon is good and I like seeing that element of the character. But I also like other takes on him a lot.

Hah, yeah, the book narrator is not exactly likeable, but I feel like that's part of the bit, for some reason. Do yourself a favor and check out the movie too, it's much less cynical, and way more fun. The narrative frame change makes it feel like a whole new story, which is pretty neat from a storytelling PoV.

... It would've been so interesting if they'd done several retellings with a different narrator (or the same one at different points of his life, if we're assuming that grandpa in the movie is also the author's self insert, and then see how the story shifts in response)

Yeah, I think he was just having fun with the 'character' of William Goldman as he never actually had a son nor a psychiatrist wife named Helen (he had two daughters and his wife, Ilene, was a photographer). Since the unabridged version doesn't exist, maybe you could write one of your own or prompt someone else to, like for Yuletide or something.

I don't care about that issue and tbh I like the characters better than in the first game. I just can't stand Patritio and Agnea, which is like 2 out of 8 characters.

However I do have an issue with the game as I find it way too easy. I haven't gotten a game over so far and I'm almost done with all the chapters 3. And I'm way overleveled even though I didn't mean to.
