It doesn't get better anon I'm sad to report and I like Xianxia. I gave up around mid-way because I got fed up of whatever the fuck it was trying to do so I stuck to looking up bleeding, in agony gifs of LYX from this show and it was the wise choice from what I heard from my friends.

I had forgotten how Ok sheith fans were with the mess that was Adam because it was "obviously a setup for their ship." Man. Voltron fandom almost universally sucked.

I think our interpretation of found family must be very different, could you give me an example of a show that you love for the found family trope?

One thing Whedon does well imo is the team/crew as family or found family trope. It's definitely one of the things I loved about Firefly.

Marie’s central insight is that gods can have hubris, and the Fates can punish it the same way they punish mortals. For that matter, it looks like the series is moving in the direction that the Fates have hubris.

Oh I'll also add on the way fucking Sheith shippers were hell bent on harassing us She-Ra fans when the show started airing because HOW DARE a completely different and unrelated show have(a few at the time) queer characters in it, or that some fans of the rival ship liked the main ship?? And I'll never forget the way they pitched the biggest fucking fits over Catra/Adora becoming canon, invading our tags, butting into our squee threads because a completely different show had a canon queer ship and ours being canon 'robbed' them of theirs. :))

Fuck the writers for that whole mess and fuck the sheith shippers for being ok with it tbh. While I'm at it, fuck the writers for the Curtis band-aid as well. I hate how invested I was in this dumb ass show.

I only like them as long as there's something that actually ties them into the plot, like I remember Guilty Crown doing a beach episode where the latter half of it connected directly to the main plot. Stuff like that is cool.

Agreed. It was bad all around and I'll never forgave the writers for that. The only, THE ONLY, part of Curtis that mollifies me even a tiny little bit is that Shiro got a happy ending. But ffs it should have been IN the story and given like any screen-time. I deserved to see him fall for someone dammit!

I really loved her. The writing struggled but she was never less than wonderful imo. But I also stopped watching due to real life stuff and haven't been back. But my not going back is more apathy to all things I once loved. I hope you can get back to it and enjoy it before the special!

firefly is widely accepted as having a singularly fantastic cast chemistry. You couldn't make it again with anyone else.

Yep. And I hate how the writers were always “Voltron isn’t about romance” when Allura had two relatively well-developed romances. They could have spared us Allura/Lance and given Curtis and Shiro that time instead.

Not a secret: I think the creators/writers of Dawson’s Creek, How I Met Your Mother, and Teen Wolf all had serious target fixation issues with their lead male characters, Dawson Leery, Ted Mosby, and Scott McCall.

Also not a secret: I liked Pacey Witter, Marshall Eriksen, and Stiles Stilinski so much more.

Secret: I never wanted any of the shows to make Pacey, Marshall, or Stiles the lead because even though I enjoyed how their characters were written for the most part, I’m pretty sure the creators/writers focus on them in that way would have damaged their characters.
