I’m making a fast quilt on my embroidery machine and training with my dogs. I’m taking them on a massive road trip without my SO at the end of the month and I have a lot of prep to do for that. I need to come up with some packing solutions so their beds fit comfortably for them and my little guy can get to the rear window to look out but also have the road necessities in easy reach. I’ve already started looking at the route for chain pet stores near the interstate because that’s where I’ll be taking my bathroom breaks. It isn’t safe to leave them in the car all locked up to get cooked to death and they and my car will definitely get stolen if I leave them in there with the windows down. So Petsmart and Petco for the win :D

They sure can ruin select lives over it, though. Like getting them fired from their job by saying "we have evidence that this employee is a pedophile" and the evidence is underage fanfic, or outing fans who live in countries where being gay is illegal.

It really is delicious. I hope your trip goes well.

Recently rewatched Dante's Peak (28% on Rotten Tomatoes), and it's a pretty solid movie. It's not a cinematic masterpiece or anything, but it's at least on par with Volcano (49% on Rotten Tomatoes), which I also liked. But then critics don't seem to much like disaster movies (though audience scores are pretty low too). And Peppermint (13% on Rotten Tomatoes) was a good revenge action movie.

I was not very impressed with Violent Night (73% on Rotten Tomatoes), though I do give points for the very apt title. It wasn't terrible or anything, just not anywhere near as entertaining as other people seem to have found it. I also was not really impressed by The Fablemans (92% on Rotten Tomatoes). It felt more maudlin than touching and I'm usually a fan of Spielbergian sentiment.

I'm usually not a fusion-is-sex kind of person because...it's not, it's many types of relationship dynamics, BUT I'll also say you're definitely not wrong.

the whole notion that someone is too traumatized/mentally ill/"broken" to engage in consensual sexual activity skeeves me the hell out because it implies the survivor has completely lost their agency and is incapable of giving consent. i understand wanting more ace representation in media or fanfic but this ain't it.

I completely understand why people say this (like, sometimes people get REALLY pressed about the thing they're watching not being something completely different that does exist) and I also completely understand why people get annoyed with it.

That being said, I DO think that the annoying people who don't understand how to be in an audience at concerts would be more well-adjusted if they went into a big-ass metal pit. Maybe you'll be a little more considerate when you've been tossed around and put your life into the hands of the most cooperative, safety-conscious audience out there.

I HATED the ending of The Good Place and I actually didn't mind the ending of How I Met Your Mother.

Also, I don't get the hype of Game of Thrones.

I want to catch up on a couple I already listen to--It's Complicated (political/legal, hosts are a former federal prosecutor and a former FBI agent) and Truth & Justice (true crime). I also want to check out one called Smartless that sounds interesting.

Ikr! I've been following the whole thing on Twitter out of morbid curiosity, and when the leaked chats came out some fans were justifying them by saying 'everyone bitches about their friends behind their backs. Uh no, most people do not call their friends racist or homophobic slurs behind their backs.

It's just mind-boggling how far they go to portray him as an innocent party. If his ex-girlfriend really did falsely accuse him of abusing her and forcing her to get an abortion (among other things) then that's horrible, but he's certainly no saint himself, especially since he admitted that they sometimes 'played hard'. There was also a phone call between them that was conveniently leaked, where she is obviously having some sort of breakdown.

He also apologised for those leaked chats and pretty much all of his former co-workers unfollowed him on social media after they came out, which implies that they're real in spite of his fans saying they're fake.

Only good musical episode in a non-musical show is the Buffy one. Every single one since has been terrible.

Jury Duty (reality show on Amazon Freevee). Multiple people I know IRL have raved about it and apparently it got good critical buzz, too, but I could not get into it. Aside from the deception angle, most of the "humor" is just unfunny and meanspirited.

Am I being oversensitive? =/

Never saw Quiet Place, but I totally agree on Arrival. So overrated.
