I'm not into it enough to consider it an obsession but I'm enjoying reading through some One Piece LA fanfiction atm because I enjoyed the show and casually ship a few pairings.

Sanji from One Piece. Not a ton of LA fic but I've read enough on the wiki to understand most of the anime fic. And luckily most of the fic also cuts out the pervert shit. I've read all the ones tagged him centric (and all the ones with Zeff ;_;) so now starting on Sanji/Zoro since that is the biggest pairing and I know both characters.

Rivers of London. I’m reading The Hanging Tree at the moment.

And I’d love to blab about how much I enjoy this series of books. But the people I live with have little to no interest in any kind of fantasy.

Thankfully, one of my part-time flatmates lets me go on about the books. I know she wouldn’t actually enjoy them, but she’ll listen to me talk about what I like. And she actually asks questions or offers other examples!

My other flatmates don’t manage to engage at that level. (Even when I try to do the same for their personal interests.)

The Bear. I don't want to really "participate" in the fandom until I catch up (on episode 5 or 6 of season 2), but I watched a few videos on YT and I'm a little annoyed. LOL

Apparently, some fans don't like Marcus.
Marcus is precious and I will defend him!!! Didn't think I was a Marcus fan until I read other people's opinions on the show XD

What do you hate about where you live?

I live in a small city so shopping for stuff can be hard. I want some air plants but there isn't any place within two hours to buy some in person.

It’s probably only a small percentage of my town who are like that but they’re very vocal about it both on social media and in person. On the bright side, you’ll only run into them at the grocery store because they won’t shop or dine at any place that hasn’t been around at least 50 years.

The prejudice, the ignorance, the hate, a lot of the culture (the macho individual part especially), the government, the heat.

Texas sulks and if I could live somewhere else I would.

Everything is too expensive, especially rent.
Too many people into new age crap. I've been asked my damn zodiac sign on job interviews.

The housing is so fucking expensive. Rent is crazy competetive but also I just really long to own property and flat out cannot here. I have friends in other cities that are able to buy houses if they just go 30min outside the main city, but here I'd have to be willing to have a 2hr commute for anything to even be remotely affordable.

I know this isn't unique to my city, lots of place are going through this. Still it's depressing and frustrating.

I live in a large town without any public transportation and maybe 5% of the roads have sidewalks. I don't drive and walking on the uneven dirt along the roadside aggravates my disability. I hate feeling so isolated and I hate that the town refuses to do anything about the situation because they'd rather spend money on cops and corps.

Housing is too expensive. We are fortunate enough to own our current place, but it's really getting too small for our family. But everything bigger on the market is listed at around a mil, which, lolno (found a lovely 3br down the street from our current place that had just reduced the price by 100k. It's now 900k.) We could head out of the city, but there's magats out there. We'd rather stay cramped.

Passing cars full of bogans keep rolling their windows down and loudly informing me that I'm a fag :D

I'm moving to Melbourne early next year mostly for this reason, lol. I felt so much safer and freer there. In my city, people look at you like you're fucking insane if you so much as trip over or take a picture in public - in Melbourne, my aunty burst into song in the middle of the street and people looked delighted about it, lmao. The rental market is piss, but at this point I'd rather live in a tent in Melbourne than stay here much longer.

Media ambivalence

Have you ever felt really ambivalent about something new you are consuming?

I just finished the first season of Attack on Titan. I don't hate it but I am not sure if I am enjoying it. I don't really care about the main character that much. And there are not enough Titan battles. And so much inner monologing.

But it is such a quick watch (excluding intros/outros only lie 16 minutes per episode). I got thru the first season in 3 days. And I do want to know more about Levi/Erwin/Mikasa.

Also I'll start. Fucking period curse strikes again. I am going on a small trip on this weekend so now it's absolutely clear that I am going to have bloody thing (pun intended). Planning around it isn't possible, my period changes a bit summer to winter and stress days or not.
