I love what you do. But can you post these as a 2nd-3rd comment in future posts? The first one doesn't collapse as much and these threads can get huge (because they are great).

I preferred the old version of Warhammer 40k, and Rogue Trader, then it was a parody of the grimdark genre. When it was taking the piss out of itself and the Grand Guignol version of Space Opera. It lost something when it started being so serious about everything, it became the thing it parodied.

FS has convinced me that the people who bitch loudest enough about gatekeeping, are in fact the most vociferous gatekeepers themselves.

I wish Star Trek Lower Decks had done a Christmas Special. I feel like it is the only Trek show that could get away with it, and I know the actors and writers could have had fun with it in a way only an animated comedy could've.

I know it isn't done these days, but I did love the type of humour that came from Frankie Howerd pretending to be a het sex maniac as his screen persona, while the entire audience knew he was gay. And he knew we knew, and that a lot of the gag was him pretending to not know that we knew. And then puncturing that with a raised eyebrow.

I have to question one thing about Star Trek, for a good guy Kirk sure seems to have hung out with some super shady people. Seemed every week he met an old friend who'd gone nuts and decided to commit murder or take over a planet. Is Kirk a bad judge of character?

Everyone talks about the lowkey homophobia of the Police Academy movie, but that movie cracked my egg by showing me LGBT bars existed. Thank you, Police Academy for the Blue Oyster Bar.

I want Marvel to do a crossover with the Goes Wrong Show for their next season of What If.. Come on, look me in the eye and tell me "What If... Iron Man Goes Wrong" wouldn't be a hit?

I wish I could see the Hail Caesar movie inside the Hail Caesar movie. I love this movie, but I kinda also want to see the Clooney/Clancy Brown "Hail Caesar" biblical movie inside it too. I'd legit, un-ironically, watch that.

I just can't get used to Prince William being called the Prince of Wales, I think King Chuck oughta have waited a couple of years to give him that title.

I'll never understand the weird hateboner that so many posters on tvtropes have for anime.

Every year, around Christmas and New Years, I reread a particular story that I wrote that takes place circa those dates, and assess how well it holds up after the year I've had. It's become sort of a tradition in its own right, and in a Christmas that's gonna be so hugely different this year anyway, it'll be my one little bit of normality.

Every now and then I wonder how often I've anonymously clashed with (also anonymous) fandom friends here.

I'm still annoyed I missed out on the Eunie character portrait for Switch.

As much as I like the convenience of Steam, I miss going to the store and owning an actual copy of a game (okay, yes, I realize I can still do that with many games). But I miss when you were allowed to play a game actually offline and save your progress on your own console/computer.

I don't care about Podcasts released by content creators I follow, no matter how much I like them. I just feel like that's where they reuse their discarded ideas for their main outlet and therefore it isn't worth it to give them more of my already limited time and attention.

I decided to add an actor's filmography to my to-watch list, even though a lot of it was more difficult to find stuff, indie/shorts. I did this because I had a crush on a character he played, and while the crush was very much for the character and not the actor, I figured if he was that good in one role I might enjoy his other performances.

Turns out he's kind of AWFUL. Disappointing, doesn't change my feelings for the one character that introduced me to him at all, but as soon as I remove all his indie films from my to-watch, I get the chance to watch one I had initially not been able to find.

I read 6 of Stephanie Garber's books in 3 days and I can't for the life of me remember any of the plot. It was like candy, brief, addictive and bad for you, but very enjoyable anyway.

All I remember is the constant costume changes and the endless descriptions of how sexy the guys were. And pink hair.

I think I get why Mills & Boone romance novels got so popular and also why classics Mary-Sues were so common once upon a time.

I just recently got a switch and am going through the best RPGs because those are my jam. Some I had before on PS and I like having them easily accessible (no more tedious setting up the console), but some are new to me. Specifically Zelda.

And look, I like the games, but I can't understand the thinking behind making a game nearly impossible without extra reading. I literally had to have a walkthrough open on my computer while I played Link's Awakening. Not one bit of that shit was intuitive. I'm on Breath of the Wild and am constantly confused about how to level up, where to look for treasure, how to figure out recipes and when to use them...I wish the games were more dummy-friendly.

(RPG recs welcome! Combat welcome, but side quests and story preferred.)

I didn't share my spotify wrapped with anyone this year because it was all just taylor swift's midnights from the month and a half I was obsessed with it and in the hospital so it's kind of embarrassing this time around.

I accidentally drove a fandom friend away/made them ghost us all once and have lived with the self-loathing for a decade. they recently resurfaced in a completely unreachable capacity and I miss them so much seeing them makes me literally cry

the sexual dimorphism seems so illogical

if you only sire them? lean and smaller is more than enough
