Inspired by #5. what are some terrible looking clothes you've seen in movies or TV? I'll start with that god awful hideous white outfit one of the women wore in Yongary (Korean monster movie I saw on MST3K)

The iconic yellow Beauty and the Beast dress was just...dismal in the live action version.

Also, there were some absolutely hideous outfits on Buffy. Especially for Tara and Willow.

I hated Buffy's prom dress so much. I loved the dress she wore at the end of season 1, so much prettier.

The really bad leather costumes of Daredevil the movie. And Batman and Robin. And Catwoman. What is with all these terrible leather costumes that don't even look particularly practical?

Okay, I adore the Dune and Children of Dune miniserieses. But the weird hats are just weird.

I like most of the different Star Trek uniforms. But the ones in the first movie? WTF were those?

Coming up blank for myself, but one of my best friends loathes the striped-patterned-dress over flannel shirt look Eleven wears in Season 4 of Stranger Things (https://www.billboard.com/culture/tv-film/stranger-things-season-4-trailer-journey-separate-ways-1235058366/) so so SO very much. I don't like it either, but it sends my friend into absolute fits, and it's hysterical.

It's been a while, but at one point in The Untamed they have Wang Yibo in a god awful blue hanfu that has the biggest shoulder pads, cinched at the waist, and then it doesn't actually flow at the bottom. He looks like he's a flasher with a belted trench. It's not a good look.

Colin Firth in the first Mama Mia movie was more accurate than that!

Damn it. You know what happens when you have a work culture of no one taking days off when they are sick? People bring contagious things and spread them to everyone else.

Turns out the reason I'm so sick is because on top of a sinus infection I also have the strep throat that no one told me was spreading around the office. Hopefully the antibiotic will kill both, but it is going to take a bit longer. I only made it 2 hours into work today before I had to go home. And not sure I'm going to be well enough tomorrow either. Which means I'll have used up all my sick days. By the first week of April. Argh.

I'm tired of being on my own. I wish I had a life partner or friends that support me. I'm just so tired of doing everything and having nothing. The couple of friends I do have are more the fun-times type of friends. Like I tried to talk to them about how I'm struggling and really depressed and they just changed the topic. Idk just tired and lonely and kinda angry about being tired and lonely.

New dishwasher is tripping my breaker when ran with lights on. Airfryer is tripping breakers when used with the microwave. Dreading getting an electrician in here to see how much this will cost to fix. ;_;

HUGE storms last night (i got to drive home at midnight from a work shift in it). Tornadoes and stuff.
Came home to no power and half a tree in my driveway I had to get out and shift before I could even get up to my house.
Found this morning that some singles were torn off my roof, so guess who's looking at getting roof repair done just after a huge fucking storm that took out tons of trees, destroyed some homes, and ripped the roof off our local cat rescue?! ARGH.

Power just came back on about 40 minutes ago, yay.

Trying to plot a road journey through England for characters for a story set in the late eighties is a fucking nightmare. Why did it take so late to upgrade so many motorways in Southern Scotland and around Coventry. How is it so bloody hard to get someone from Glasgow to Banbury without the road being too modern!?

Feeling so blah and it fucking sucks. And work hasn't decided to stop sucking itself. Wish something good would happen, or that I could not be an incompetent idiot at work and get the thing I said I'd get done actually done. Just feels like life's a zero sum game and it shouldn't be that way.

I'm starting to realize that I'd going to need breast reduction surgery down the road. Problem is, I'm not going to get it covered by insurance because I've managed to avoid back problems caused by my breasts. Guess I need to start saving.

Put in an offer on a really cool house. Seller accepted.

Inspection found knob and tube wiring. We asked the sellers for a credit. They're being weird about it, so we'll likely have to walk.

I can't tell you how annoyed I am. "We're probably just gonna relist, but we'll think about it." Bruh, even in this market, anyone who wants to buy the house is going to be put off by the knob and tube. Any potential buyer is going to want some sort of concession, especially at the price you're asking.

Sucks, man. I know it's normal with homebuying to have a deal fall through, but it's still a bummer.

CW: Cancer and death

My dad recently passed away due to cancer, and I cared for him at my home for the final few weeks. We had family down to visit this week, including his mother, and I love them all so much but am so emotionally exhausted from the questions about how was he at the end, was he happy, was he in pain, did he talk much, did he know what was happening. Which are all completely valid questions to have.

I've spent all week telling them he was happy, he was peaceful, he basically just slept, but honestly his last few days were horrendous and I can't tell anyone that. He was miserable and scared, he was in so much pain, he was confused, he forgot who I was, and the last night I had with him where he was conscious was spent with him completely agitated and distressed. I knew going into this it would be difficult, I just hate that the last days he was awake for were so unhappy and that I couldn't make him comfortable at the end, and that that was his last conscious memory.

I feel like a failure and he deserved better.

My BIL is an asshole who is killing his mother with internet conspiracy theories and their implementation and I am so tired of fighting him. So is my partner. We’re both exhausted from the daily battles. I hate saying this, but I wish she would give up and pass on.
