... but you wouldn't mind if someone else made them for you! As always, including the fandom and full character names is a big help, and while I'm definitely not the world's greatest expert at secret design, I'll try my best. Please note that secrets with lots of text are sometimes difficult to accommodate. Most of the time, I'll give it a shot but might not be able to make secrets where the text is so lengthy that I can't fit it into the limited space.

I'll monitor this thread until tomorrow's secret post goes up, so feel free to leave your comments until then!

I remember being young and watching an old episode of The Lone Ranger on tv, and his cover being blown by a trip to a barbershop undercover where a barber pointed out tan lines on his face as being a dead-ringer for a domino mask and that he could only be one guy. Young me watched this and though "oh, that must be why Batman only comes out at night. to avoid sunburn on his face giving him away". Yup, I was a slow learner when it came to comic-genre cliches. it makes so much sense tho

I think MGM ought to have a Disney style vault. And the first movie to be Vaulted for good ought to be No Time To Die. Because it fucked the Bondverse permanently in a way that only its utter elimination as a movie can unfuck it.

I apologize if this wasn't clear, but these threads are basically "live" up until tomorrow's secret post goes up. That's effectively the deadline to post in this thread and be reasonably sure that I'll see your comment. If you post after that point, I might miss your comment and your secret might not get made, and I'd hate for anyone's secret to fall through the cracks by accident.

To the anon who posted about toxic megafandoms on last week's thread - no worries, I happened to spot your secret this evening, so it'll show up eventually!

I gave The Devil Judge a try, mostly because some fandom friends recommended it, and I enjoy Korean shows but this one is,

1. Not that great honestly, like it tries to make a point but it spends far too long navel-gazing with the male-lead is looses it, and

2. The main reason it's recommended is the slash potential, which is why I started watching, except that everyone who suggested it to me based on that neglected to mention that dude 2 is the splitting image of Male lead's older bother, Male lead has very angsty hero-worshippy feelings about this, and thus makes the shipping aspect take on a hilariously incesty spin that NO ONE who's into it seems to even slightly acknowledge.

I'm not mad or disgusted, I just find it really funny that literally everyone who's told me to watch this has completely ignored this part of the story and tries to make it out to be just regular 'dudes having feelings' about one another that you can spin in a shippy way.

To say I had the wrong impression going in is an understatement. xD

So I wrote a parody fic eons ago in which P. Diddy had a cameo (as Puff Daddy). In the short time he appeared, I portrayed him as a rude, pushy, obnoxious jerk with no originality and a preference for humiliating other people. After which he was abruptly and violently offed by another character who'd just about had enough of his shit.

There are a few things in that fic I cringe at in retrospect. That... isn't one of them.

I'm jealous of Isaac, Darcy and Elle being free to explore and work out who they are as teenagers. I'm in my late 30s and still don't understand who or what I am, and it feels far too late to do anything about it anyway.

Snow and Charming were terrible parents and terrible people. They used the label 'Heroes' to justify everything they chose to do and dismissed any responsibility for their actions because it was for the 'greater good'.

I remember back when DC decided to make Tim Drake and Jon Kent bi and everyone was lamenting because it was the WRONG combination of Robin and Superboy obviously. And I agree. Just...everyone was upset about Tim/Kon (which I do ship!), while I was mostly upset about Jon/Damian. Maybe because the dynamic with Jon was the FIRST one that actually made me like Damian? Otherwise I have no explanation.

Doesn't help that I actually like Bernard aka Tim's love interest, while I don't like Jay aka Jon's love interest.

(I hope this secret isn't totally out of date because I haven't checked comics for a hot minute aka months, so maybe they already rebooted everything again. Yes, bonus secret: I'm still hating on some changes from the last big reboot several years back.)

I get the reasons why Oprah is campaigning for Kamala Harris, but I can't help but sometimes think, "Maybe this is Oprah repenting for unleashing those two quacks on America." (And one wasn't even a real doctor, from what I hear.)

Back when I watched 911, I shipped Buck/Eddie pretty hard, so I wouldn't exactly be unhappy IF they ever got together in canon BUT the fandom is so goddamn obnoxious that I actually don't want them to do it.
(BUT then we'll be subjected to another of those biased queerbaiting discourses, so everyone loses.)

I kinda wish the prospect of service Pokémon was explored more. We have service animals irl but when they state shit like "Sylveon wraps its ribbonlike feelers around its Trainer's arm because this touch enables it to read its Trainer's feelings" in the Pokédex and expect me not to believe service Pokémon are a thing? I'll believe it.

Bonus secret: Sylveon would definitely be my partner due to my shit mental and physical health. Who would yours be?

I didn't find Graves of the Fireflies that sad. Don't get me wrong, it is sad and emotionally impactful, but I wouldn't call it the most depressing film ever made like a lot of people seem to do.

I wish the Final Fantasy XIV character creator had a smaller minimum setting for breast size.

My friend wishes it had a larger maximum breast size.

I never really got the hype around Good Omens. It felt like Terry Pratchett had some good and interesting ideas that got warped through the lens of Neil Gaiman into a very Neil Gaiman-y mess.

I remember when I was a teenager, I was into pretty boys and decidedly NOT into muscular, beardy, hairy men. Both IRL and in fictional characters. Fandom's response was to inform me my tastes would change as I got older and learned how all those were attractive signs of mature masculinity.

When a show/game/canon promises queer characters being part of the cast and they turn out to be conventionally attractive, soft, femme lesbians who are only into each other and totally non-threatening to the rest of the cast and male-gazed at constantly...

I don't hate it and I'm happy for them existing but like god, way to be safe and milquetoast.

I have to make myself avoid conversations in fandom where people talk about what they avoid in fics because seeing a bunch of people talking about the kind of fics I like to write demotivates me so much. I even get a little bummed out when friends mention they avoid certain types I like but I make an effort to be chill about it and not take it personally. Sometimes we even joke about that.

But still

It bothers me that I'm still so sensitive

Sure, he was a mass murdering psychopath, but obviously Geordi thought that Soran had a point about one thing in Generations. He did get that more "normal" looking prosthesis Soran was promoting by the time the next movie rolled around.
