If you really want a national divorce, I can't persuade you otherwise, but if you think hating those bastards stops once your country is smaller, I'm sorry to say you're wrong.

Point 1. Those bastards are still out there, still doing all those bastard things you hate, still getting away with it. Maybe even getting away with it MORE now that they don't have to put up with you morally sound people reigning them in. Those fucking bastards, just free to revel in their bastardry... You know We should Do something about them. Maybe sanctions? Maybe put boots on the ground. I mean there are good people over there, suffering because we didn't wipe out those bastards when we had the chance. And knowing that will just fucking eat at you, You will have to vote for the people who will liberate that other country. Give them democracy. Free them.

That's what happens IF you find that the them and us animosity is not in fact caused by borders but is coming from within you. Coming from the knowledge of the people you're totally right and justified to hate.

If you find out that you can compartmentalise, that you can put them out of your head, you can get by without being constantly reminded of what bastards they are... Suddenly people who had never before bothered you will start seeming more and more objectionable. Well... Why the hell should you stand for that. You split your country up so you wouldn't have to share your country with people you hate. And now just when everything was on the verge of being perfect a new bunch of bastards suddenly come to your attention. Well, they were obviously the real bastards the whole time. They were just hidden behind the more obnoxious and obvious bastardry of the first lot of bastards. Well, we can solve this. You shouldn't have to share anything with bastards. Another line, another border, another set of bastards on the right side of the line. And another. And another. And finally, you start... noticing... the people you share your house with... were they always so intolerable? Surely they can't have always been like this.

TL;DR (Because you'll need it) If your problem is you're unwillingness to be part of any endeavour with people you hate, with people beyond tolerance, you have to be VERY careful about altering your ecosystem by simply removing the object of your hate. Finding a group of people you know in your bones you're just RIGHT to hate is intoxicating and it takes a great force of will to STOP once you've started on the journey to ridding your visible world of people you find intolerable.

The slippery slope is always real, and you have to be VERY aware about your own ability to resist it once you find yourself starting to slide.

You will almost always find you're better if the first thing you try is to cultivate an ability to Tolerate or simply become blind to bastards you find unbearable. I'm not saying it's always RIGHT, but it should always be the first thing you try.

In general, I marvel at the audacity of this (likely white) British dude trying to dismiss the concerns of minorities in the US on the basis of "I talked to a few right wingers on the internet and thus know more than you, you dumb little minority who is actually impacted by the situation". It's almost like he's trying to be a parody or poster child of the clueless privileged white millenial dudebro who thinks he has some wisdom other people just totally miss because he read something on a blog that enlightened him.

Well, I'll just breeze on past the obvious point of how I think I probably speak to more right wingers than you and find most of them don't want trans people dead, skipping right over the part where I question how in touch with reality you are and how much of your reality is based on what other people TELL you their political opponents think... I mean why would they lie about their competition?

We'll just skip over all that obvious shit and jump straight onto the fact that if I ever encounter a maga guy who thinks their life will be significantly improved by removing trans people from their country - or mortal coil - I would outline same facts as above. It would all also equally apply to them as it does to you.

Would I expect them to be willing to listen any more than I expect you to? Oh absolutely not. Doesn't make it not true, tho.

You know, I will throw you a bone on this one point because regardless of how common it actually is, I do believe there will be SOME right wingers who openly talk about how much they want you dead (must be awful for strangers to wish you dead!) And if you have legitimate concern that they will get their way, or try to, my advice IS bullshit. Tolerance only works on a conceptual level. Only tolerate the concept of unacceptable people. Once your face to face with a person who attempts to alter your physical reality in a way you can't endure telling yourself they dont matter simply wont be enough.

At that point my advice changes: Be armed and be proficient. Assuming you're a yank. If you're a Brit then RIP, brother.

I'm kidding on that last point, even in the UK there are limited steps you can take.

Nayrt but are you seriously this naiive that you believe only the words "I want you dead" count as wanting people dead? And the systematic dismantling of any and all support for certain groups of people (be it trans, disabled or other) that ensure/support their survival and the intentional rejection of their very existence somehow ... doesn't really count because they didn't use the literal words "I want you to die".

If that they meant was "The people I believe want me dead" I would have had quite a different direction to go.

They wanted to claim a lack of ambiguity, so thats the standard.

As to the other stuff, there ARE other reasons to dismantle a system than the desire to see he beneficiaries of the system dead. Even IF you believe that is the inevitable outcome, you still have to acknowledge that might simply be an undesired but unavoidable by product.

Like, ok- Make any right winger this offer "Either we get rid of medicaid completely, or we keep it for everything except trans stuff. And abortions, No more abortions. In fact let me sweeten the pot! Actual funding within medicaid to encourage and assist DEtransitioning. And free MAID for any trans person who wants it. Total trans death, just like you want."

Now, tell me how much you have a finger on the pulse of the average right wing maga chud, tell me, do you think they take the offer?

I realise I'm telling you "You will be better served by working on understanding and emulating their internal map when your not in an argument" WHILE you and I are in an argument.
