I think "boundaries" is a word that people keep using without understanding what it is. For one, you don't demand boundaries of people, you have boundaries for yourself.

I have nothing helpful to add, I just want to say again how much I love her look. Everything about it, just love it all. I wish she had gotten a better writer for her arc because I adored the casting and style.

Really curious what fandom spaces this is talking about. Is this people bringing up Thirteen in conversations? Untagged fic or art? Are there fandom conventions/norms about which Doctors can be brought up in different places?

If so, you have either an unclear rules problem or a lack of moderation problem.

I also agree with this so much. The comics were just too edgy for me, but I also found myself wishing the cartoon could be a bit less soft. I did prefer the show overall though.

I don't know about the take on Mary, but I think a lot of the "Mr. Darcy just had social anxiety/autism" comes from the 2005 adaptation, which was beautifully shot but definitely a departure from the book in many ways.

Someone possibly asked me out? Maybe? Help!

I'd had a really long post written out but it was unnecessary. The basic story is this:

My neighbor's rednecky maga-y grandson is staying with her right now. He asked me to hang out sometime, I'm aroace and thought he was trying to become friends with me but my friend swears if a guy asks a girl to hang out and doesn't specifically *say* "as friends", he means it as a date. I have zero interest in dating anyone, but if I did this guy wouldn't be my type as we have nothing in common. He also apparently has guns and anger problems, according to my cousin who knows him, and just isn't someone I'm interested in being friends with (especially if he is interested in something other than friendship).

Anyway, I was caught off guard and wasn't sure how to say I wasn't interested (I'm horrible at confrontation) so I just said I was super busy and he was like "ok, just let me know if you get some free time" and that was the end of it. I'm not sure how to handle it if it comes up again...he's staying with his grandma for an unspecified amount of time and she lives right down the street from me so it's kind of hard to avoid him.

Help?
