He knowingly sells overpriced BS homeopathic medicine for cats in his shop. I don't like anyone who makes money off selling snake oil to gullible people who are trying to help their pets but apparently don't know any better than to pay $30 for a tiny vial of flower water.

I'm a vet nurse who works at a cat-only clinic and while I do appreciate that he brought cat behavior to the public's attention (and yes he does get a lot of stuff right, far more than Cesar Milan does), he is definitely not the first (or second, or third) person on my 'best animal behavior pros' list. As far as I can tell he has had no formal education in animal behavior and I am very leery of referring clients to someone who lacks proper training and certification for animal behavior advice.

As far as him 'selling out', well, he's always been 'sold out'. He's a pop culture personality who happens to focus on cats. The cat toys with his name are crap (or they were back when I cared to look at them), he sells homepathic 'remedies' which is an automatic Nope, and wow his website has become just another generic store front for whatever product he's partnering with this time.

Again, I'm glad he's helped make such big strides for cat care with the public, and yes a lot of what he says is right but he is and always will be first and foremost a pop culture icon, with all the questionable business motives that come along with that.

if it makes you feel any better, OP, even the Futurama voice actors talk about having lifelong trauma from that episode. at least, Billy West and Jon DiMaggio are like "fuck that episode, am I right?" idk if it's trauma so much as acknowledging it's a rough one for anyone to watch.
