I got a TV for my mom because it was $89 and a big upgrade for her. I was hoping I'd find cat stuff on sale but NOTHING.

Yep! A coffee maker from Amazon. It was $60, which is $5 more than I paid for the exact same one ten years ago. But mine died earlier this year and I couldn’t bring myself to buy it again because the 2025 price is $95. I’ve had that thing in my cart for like ten months and it has never gone below $89 until today.
I also bought a quilt pattern book, two precut quilting sets, and about 20 yards of fabric from the local quilt shop. It was more than I wanted to spend but with Joann’s gone and all the online sellers I’ve used having closed up in the last few years, my choices are Hobby Lobby (FUCK NO!), Walmart, and the local quilt shop full of bitchy bitter old women who hate me because I don’t dress like them. I try avoid all three places but Amazon has shit selection for fabric anymore so local snooty bitch shop it is.

Pine pellets for chick bedding when I move them outside, and medicated chick feed, plus a couple big boxes of squeeze up cat treats.

Idk I may buy myself another rose bush or something, and I need fudge tins and to buy presents for a couple people. And I'm always tempted by sewing and cosplay supplies. But tariffs + inflation mean prices are insane, so idk.

I bought new AirPods, mine went through the washer a couple weeks ago, oops. And some jewelry from Kendra Scott. I kind of regret the jewelry purchase, though. I should have stuck with getting gifts and one item for myself, instead of multiple things for myself.

I have taken advantage of some online deals, usually for things I was looking for anyway (copper tape to repair electronics, etc.).

The only in-store BF deal I did-- and purely out of frivolity-- was one of Harbor Freight's mini tool chests, now that they come in purple.

yes, i wasted over $600 on shit i don't need, and put it on my credit card, because i'm depressed and stupid. i could cancel the amazon orders but that was like 50 bucks and the cheapest, the rest i have to either return or keep. some of it isn't returnable.

I had zero money to spend after Thanksgiving (and before I get paid in December) because I did MOST of my holiday shopping quite early (some was buying craft supplies), so... I mean I guess since some of those sales start really early now. I bought something on a steam sale and I didn't check to see if it was black friday or not, so it is possible!

What is everyone doing this weekend?

I will be relaxing all weekend. Tomorrow, we are going to watch the WWE PPV. I'll hopefully get some crocheting done. And Sunday I have to bathe the kittens again because we found fleas. :( Pray for me because I'll be doing is solo and I got scratched several times doing it with someone else yesterday.

Zootopia 2 (spoilers)

I saw Zootopia 2 today and it was absolutely adorable. What a wonderful movie! I enjoyed it a lot, and it had more pathos and substance than the trailers would suggest. Anyone else see it? What did you think.

I'm sorry, but they're stupid. Every time the weather is forecast to get to freezing, they think the ground is going to immediately freeze over and that if there's any water on the ground, it's going to turn into an ice slick. Like, today the high was in the 60Fs/15-20C and it rained a little. Chilly and drizzly and windy and ugly but not all that cold. It hasn't been very cold here recently. Tomorrow a cold front moves in and it's predicted to drop to around 32F/0C as the low. And they're all just certain it's going to immediately freeze what little water will be left on the ground and that it won't be safe to drive. All of these people are in their 40s or 50s but they still don't have the sense to realize that if it's been warm, the air temp reaching freezing doesn't mean that water on the ground will turn into ice. Of course it doesn't happen, it doesn't work like that, but the next time we get down to freezing, the cycle repeats. I'm sick of listening to them cry and carry on about how the roads are going to ice over when there is no fucking way that's going to happen.

While I have friends and co workers who are cool and friendly muslims, I have no interest to hear the horn call to prayer sound in my neighborhood from time to time. Same goes with no interests to hear randos blasting “Jesus will save you” on a megaphone. There should be a balance of religious freedom and local custom /regulation. If you prefer to live life 100% like how you would in country x, the you can go back to country x. Immigrating to a different country means you will have to make compromises. You can’t have the cake and eat it too.
