I probably should've been a little more specific.
I have no problem with RP at all. It's fine. What I don't like is the fact that so many people seem not to be able to tell someone when/if they need to improve, and help them do so. There's so much "UR SO BAD LULZ" up here, it makes me wonder whether any of these people actually know that they're bad. I mean, the nature of RP is that your 'work', as it were, is on show, so surely you should be open to concrit and people should be happy to give it to you.
...and, yeah, I was a bit pissed off about it when I made the secret.

18. Disagreed. If they suck, it's all the more reason to keep doing it, so they can get better.

Though I do agree somewhat with the second part. If these bad artists/icon makers/RPers are the type to ignore good advice and demand only praise and hearts and flowers...I hate when people do that. XD; You can't get better without being open to change, after all!

18 said that they were talking about artists who haven't improved by a certain point. It's true, too. Using the analogy of fan artists, if you've been drawing for years and you can't do anything besides awkwardly-jointed furries and googly-eyed pretty people, you've stagnated and you suck.

Appreciation is one thing, but people going "OMFG SSSSSSSSSOOOOOOO GREAAAAATTTTT" are holding you back by not inspiring you to improve. It's the few brave souls who link to anatomy exercises and give helpful tips that get shat on, and it needs to end.

12. Haha, I'd actually say that writing Abyss porn really doesn't get you BNF status automatically. The Abyss fandom isn't exactly small, but I still think it's small enough to be a bit discerning. I don't know who you're talking about so I can't really judge or anything, but...Luke seems like he'd be a hard character to RP. He goes through so many changes throughout the game.

Oh, I know the suggestion is there. Guy and Luke have some of the gayest scenes ever. Thugh, despite that, I just honestly don't see Guy as being gay.

1. I think you're trying to push yourself onto the limited time that this person may have. I know some friends IRL who barely get to breath between their jobs but for the little time we have at night, we play WoW together and that's practically the only fun they do manage to have. When they update their livejournal, they don't talk about their work but more about the things they enjoy, making it look like that's all they do, but I'm a witness to the fact that they're not.

Sometimes friends need to find their own happiness and entertainment and it doesn't necessarily need to include every single person they know. So, to get to the point, I think you're just taking this a bit too personally. Real friends are always there for their friends, fandom or personal, at any given time. That's what a friend is.

And from your words, you're not looking like one at the moment. Sorry.

Feel free to give constructive criticism! I for one, as an "artist," loves to hear it instead of the multitude of "kawaii!!11"s and "kewl"s I get. I WANT to hear it. But people can be pretty touchy, so it's a delicate subject. There are ways to give constructive criticism without being rude or offensive, and helping them to improve.

But, hey, if they're like this guy I knew in high school whose style didn't change or improve in the seven years his friends knew him, then yeah. They need to give up XD

18. Ehh, I probably should. Yeah. Like this one person for the past year ... has only been cropping pictures of scans and doing nothing more to the icon and calling it an icon. I'd call that more like a base. But she apparently doesn't want anyone to mess with her cropped glory. And people cheer her for what she does and it makes me sigh a little inside. I kind of look for the people that would and wouldn't take criticism -- and I always get the feeling that if I said something, they'd say that if I didn't like them to just find another place to look. Which I could, you know, but I kind of wish that they would get better. I think I may be being idealistic, though. >>;;

5. While it's definitely true that Guy likes women (he has nothing against them, likes them, etc.) and he takes offense against people calling him a woman-hater, the fact of the matter is that he probably represses any feelings of affection that he has for females because he can't act on them. I think that having Guy's omg overwhelming love for one of the girl characters help him to overcome his gynophobia in a fic could actually be more out of character than having him turn to another male for a relationship. As much as he might find girls attractive, etc., he can't have a physical relationship with any of them, which means that he'd either have to remain a virgin or turn toward men, at least for sexual gratification.

That being said! You're obviously allowed to not like Guy/Luke, so I'm not saying anything against that. I dunno, I'm just sort of rambling and giving my thoughts about the matter and why I believe Guy might realistically have to take another look at his sexuality, etc. If people could write a fic where Guy was straight and in a relationship with a girl and make it work? All the power to them. I just think it would be just as easy to make het pairings OOC for Guy as it would be to make gay pairings OOC for him.

Gah, that got so tl;dr. AHH WELL.
