Thank you. He can identify as a man all he wants. He can look like a man, have the hormones of a man and all of that. But people need to stop acting like that means straight women who like the dick should automatically think of him as any other dude when it comes to relationships.

From a *practical* point of view I would agree with you, but from the point of view the OP is putting across...she is no more likely to ever be *intimate* with Chaz Bono that n with say...Johnny Depp or Daniel Craig. Having a crush and/or sexual fantasy about someone is not the same as being in a relationship.

Now if the OP had said something like "I am only attracted to men with penis that look like *enter particular style*", that would be one thing. But last time I checked people didn't go around demanding that potential romantic or sexual partners drop their pants before, you know, being attracted to someone.

What about someone who loses their penis somehow? Or the functionality of their penis? Are they no longer men?

As a trans male myself I find this really offensive. I mean if you truly like someone you won't care about their body. And Chaz is a man no matter what his biological body is. A lot of people still stay with their partners through their transition, just sayin'.

okay, look

i think chaz bono is def a man, op thinking he's attractive is not any less of a straight woman, etc.

but while it's great some people stay with their partners through transition, that's not possible for everyone. (and i'm pretty sure i've seen some cases where people stay with them, but it becomes more like a friendship, less sex, etc-- so it's not like the relationship never changes)

but when it comes to intimate sexual relationships (NOT simply attraction), sometimes bodies DO matter. saying "if you truly like someone you won't care about their body" imposes the following choices if you are gay/straight (or otherwise not interested/turned off by certain genitalia):

a) never have sex
b) have sex, but possibly not the type you desire (so as not to involve what turns you off)
c) force yourself to start getting turned on by something you're not attracted to
d) admit you don't love the person because of this ultimatum

not such fantastic choices.

i don't think it's transphobic to say "i am attracted to men AND penises/women AND vulvas." but it WOULD be fucked up and transphobic to say something like "i could never be attracted on the surface to a trans guy" or "i am attracted to men AND penises, and this person meets that criteria, but i totes can't date them because i know they haven't always met it."

And there's also been men and women to leave their relationships when their lovers get disfigured/find out they had plastic surgery/find out they are sterile/find out their credit is bad. People are often shallow. People have different experiences. People want different things. If the cock is important to her then it's important to her.
