lol. As if one of the two partners in slash isn't always completely femified.

(Anonymous) 2011-10-24 12:57 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL yes, because everyone everywhere judges everything based on its m/m slash potential. Couldn't possibly just be a badly-written show regardless of the gender of its leads.

WE WILL TURN YOUR LADYPEEN INTO AN ACCEPTABLE CLIT OF THE CLITCLAN YET!

I really hate butthurt het fans. Get over it.

Are there any men watching?

(Anonymous) 2011-10-24 12:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Do they look impressed?

You always got along better with men than women, don't you, faghag?

(Anonymous) 2011-10-24 12:59 pm (UTC)(link)
How is penis taste? How boy come cumslut?

(Anonymous) 2011-10-24 01:13 pm (UTC)(link)
ok, psycho. i didn't realize final fantays summons were such a touchy topic for you. jesus.

also, i posted videos of two of the last three, moron. lrn2comprehend.

I don't know about the OP, but I'd consider FFX's summons to be in the "old" category. If only because they fit into the traditional monster/mythological creature/god/etc appearance that other FF summons had.

Holy shit this is horrifying.

No, I do not want people to stop writing what they enjoy. I have not said that I do not want that. My opinion was simply a statement of opinion. If I did want something from exclusive m/m writers it would be idk, nothing really. I honestly do not want anything from them. I don't understand why this is such a foreign concept.

It'd be nice if there was more female-orientated fics but that is not the sole fault of m/m slash, it contributes /but so a lot of other factors/. Which is why I said one of the ways. I was commenting on a trend in overall fandom I find sad that has relevance to the particular topic being discussed. I'm not expecting people to change what they're writing.

Also was the passive-aggressive insinuation that all I'm doing is complaining and not contributing female-orientated fanfic (seriously where did you pull that from?) really necessary?

C/P

People seem to think I think Harry shouldn't have any fun LOL. I really don't. If he was all workworkwork he would be boring. I just think he didn't focus as much as he should had. It's not in his nature and he likes to put off unpleasant things but I'm just saying that this is one of those unpleasant things that you really shouldn't put off LOL. This isn't just homework you don't wanna do. It's your life haha

[identity profile] wldcatsprstr-14.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 01:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know. That's why I'm here speculating on it and throwing in my two-cents. Because it's fun not to know and to think "what would I do/what should he do." It's most of the fun in fiction when a character doesn't do exactly what you think they should. Doesn't mean I can't still rage over it LOL.

The luck part of Harry was one thing I have a big problem with in the book. "He got lucky" doesn't make for a protagonist that I wanna spend my time on. That's why Neville and Ron were always my favorites lol

“Doctor? Aren’t you supposed to be wearing gloves?”

Kurt gasped as Karofsky easily slid his index finger into him, almost forgetting his question.

“D-doctor?”

Karofsky quickly added a second and Kurt clenched down around them. Surely fingers that didn’t belong to his husband shouldn’t feel so good.

“Gloves feel so impersonal,” Karofsky finally replied. “I’m here to cure your Hysteria.”

But this is the real world. Harry Potter is fiction. And in fiction, if you want something to appear relevant to a story, you have to emphasize it. You can't just say "this character was abused" and then show no scars of that and expect it to have real bearing on the story. A character like Snape does a much better of showing how trauma and abuse shapes a person than Harry does because, even though everyone reacts differently to trauma, Snape has a personality type that people generally associate with someone who went through what he did. He's bitter, mean, and generally angsting and angry at the world. Harry comes off as a completely well-adjusted kid who has really no negative baggage from his life at the Dursley's except that he has to play catch-up with the wizarding world. He doesn't LOOK like an abused kid, even if we're told he is one. And in fiction, you can't just tell about something just because it's a story. You have to show it and bring it to life.

I agree with this secret very muchly. Both sides of it. You are awesome, OP.

[identity profile] yukinoomoni.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, it's obvious that Sheldon has feelings for Amy, too - especially when he went so far as to hit Leonard on the head and say, "Not yours," when referring to her.

[identity profile] yukinoomoni.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 01:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Ugh, I like to pretend that season 7 and 8 never happened. A reunion special would be cool.

[identity profile] yukinoomoni.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 01:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't like it, either.

(Anonymous) 2011-10-24 01:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree that the L.A Noire faces were really well done, but there was still something a little...off about the eyes. I don't know why game designers haven't mastered eyes yet. They still have that creepy, glassy, dead look that real eyes don't have. Uncharted 2 is another game that had this problem. Great character models, creepy glassy eyes.

Not OP

I shipped Magneto/Xavier since well before the movies even came out and even harder after they did. Then First Class came out and, um, well...platonic or sexual, getting through the chemistry between Erik and Charles in that film required virtual mining gear. Never before have I been so enthralled with a chess game. :p

I don't disagree that age has something to do with many of my ships, because I'm a shallow human being, but certainly not all. There are relationships that make for beautiful romances regardless of the years of the people involved.

In regards to the secret, however, it still makes me blink that people would be absolutely 100% CONVINCED of a relationship between Bertie and Lionel. In general, and especially given their relationship with their wives (I don't exactly see Bertie as the polyamorous type)

(Anonymous) 2011-10-24 02:00 pm (UTC)(link)
That's fair enough. The animations main characters was really well done (particularly the Joker), but the non-playable characters are as stiff as a board. And I can't stand that plastic Ken doll look that most of the character had. It keeps reminding me that the games could look so so beautiful, if only Rocksteady used a different engine.

Though I'm guessing hair is a pretty difficult thing to animate in general. The best console graphics I can think of are Uncharted's and the hair movements still weren't quite...right.

Maybe game devs need to take a page out of Tangled's book. :D

Troll in the dungeon

(Anonymous) 2011-10-24 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I meant to show that the same thing can apply to someone who isn't into men. It's rough when there's a shit ton of m/m porn out there and very little f/f, and I thought s/he was saying "there shouldn't be any female porn because I don't like it". Maybe I interpreted wrong, though.

[identity profile] miezen.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 02:34 pm (UTC)(link)
...Um. What's so weird about straight people enjoying straight porn? That's...actually the norm. Typically people imagine themselves in the role of the person of the same gender as themselves.

Also there's more to shipping than just porn. Shocking, I know.
