1. Tiny blue font on a gray background. Perfect for eyestrain.

2. Penny Arcade IS a real comic. What the heck else would you call it?

5. Well, find some friends who like the games you like if it bothers you so much.

7. If you go around calling people half breeds you're liable to wind up with a fat lip.

9. Number 9, meet number 5. But wait until I get the popcorn.

12. As far as I can determine, every single pairing in Bleach is despised by someone. So it all evens out really. Just ignore the ones who despise the pairing you like. Remember that the pairing that they like is also despised...by someone.

13. I was with you until the second paragraph. Because really you have no more cause to think that the happy characters are hiding pain than the goth character fans have in thinking that happy characters are brainless twits. Now maybe the happy ones ARE hiding deep pain but presumably the writer would let the audience in on that.

14. Would it have been so disgusting if you had stumbled onto a het site?

25. I can't even READ this. Why do people use ittsy bitsy fonts?

Sorry, I've got a huge monitor and it's on a low resolution. It didn't occur to me how small the font was. ♥

9. To me, this is probably the best game ever if only because it dared to go where no game had gone before (at that point).

It's awesome, I love it, and I have no shame in admitting it.

12. I ship 'em without shame. Honestly, you're not alone. I just don't give a damn if someone disagress with me.

And I like H/Hr too, but that's a whole nother ballgame.

1. Oh I wonder how it is to be popular, but then I don't want to give up my friends for that. D:

2. OH MY GOD WHEN AND WHERE..? XDD *dies*

8. Wow I've been seeing a lot of this guy lately :O

9. I like FF7 too :D It's not a crime to just genuinely like something. Heck, it's not like you're even forcing others to like it or they DIEEEE. :U Oh, fandom...

14. ...I think that happened to me with DBZ, Rurouni Kenshin, and, in the case of yaoi-ness, FF7-FF8 and DIGIMON. XDDD (Even though I haven't seen more than 10 epis or so of Digimon... weird.) XDDD;

I miss the days people called things lemons ;_; Citrus! Lime! The days of 'give your email and we'll send you the password to the lemon section!' And when Fanfiction.net hosted lemo-- ... wait..

*shuts up now* XD;

19: I once bought an audio-book he wrote. It wasn't particularly good, or maybe I just didn't care enough about UFOs at the time, but I did buy it. His character, and Ice-T's, were such a fun combination on the show that it was one of the primary reasons I loved SVU over the other L&Os.

22: Yeah, cute. How many people have thought that? I hate to see him being fangirled, because I feel like that takes something away. Mr Reznor is in love with his music, and I respect that, even when he whips out the tambourine, because he has found his direction and his drive and it is not any one person on this dirty little world.

Re: 22

(Anonymous) 2007-07-01 08:06 am (UTC)(link)
22. Of course I agree with you. One of my favorite things about him is not just him as himself, but his music, and I respect him greatly because of it.

Hardly meant to offend. Of course, you know, Mr. Reznor, as you say, would not be quite as renowned if not for said fans.

Though, for some, I assume that would be a good thing. But I think it's great he has so many fans out there.

My secret was the truth, however, simply because I think that what he has accomplished is quite incredible. :D

Dear Unfwhore Haters,

Chill the hell out. It's just a game. It's not an assault on fandom. It's not a loneliness parade or some act of desperation.
It's, and I know this may be hard to believe, JUST A GAME. And as such, the people who have joined just wanted to play an RP with lots of manlove and sex and light-hearted fun.
And it honestly means nothing more than that.

If someone were to make the case that this game is all more fetishation of gay men and so on and so forth, yeah, it probably is. But guess what? As a gay man, I've come to see that any aspect of ANYONE is a potential fetish. Period.
All that's been is done is the creation of a game. If you see anything more, you're looking way too hard.

Thanks,
Chriscakes

XD XD XD Thank you! Too bad I only write fic for it when I'm drunk...

1. A little advice? You're trying too hard. And believe it or not, people can tell when you're trying too hard. And when you have multiple accounts everywhere? You're only spreading bits and pieces of your talents all over the place where no one will actually associate them with you.

I won't berate you for wanting to be some kind of BNF. But I will say that with your current attitude, you'll probably never be one. Being popular isn't about doing whatever it takes, or discovering what other people want you to do, and it sure as hell isn't about dumping your friends. People become popular in fandoms because they're confident, social people who actively participate in the fandom. It's all about having fun and making friends.

Try having some confidence in who you are and what you can do. Have one account for each service, not several, and for fuck's sake, relax.

14. *shrugs* I got into it when I was 11, and I found it because I was actively looking for some good porn. Granted, I was looking for some vampire het, but when I found Gundam Wing slash, I thought it was incredibly hot and I wondered why I hadn't thought of pairing up two boys sooner. The rest, as they say, is history.

I really don't understand why people are ashamed to admit that they were curious about sex at a young age. It's not disgusting. What's disgusting is this puritan prudishness so inherent in our society that makes us think we're unclean or shameful for actually developing a sexuality.

14. WIN. Same here. First started reading smut at that age because I wanted to. Never felt bad about it, either.

[identity profile] chakuura.livejournal.com 2007-07-01 06:43 am (UTC)(link)
12. AMEN.

15. Easily one of my favourite pairings, it really doesn't get enough love. :[

27. Yep, I can't find them cute no matter how many times I watch that movie.

[identity profile] designer-ninja.livejournal.com 2007-07-01 06:46 am (UTC)(link)
2. I feel horrible for how strongly I "YES PLEASE" in reaction to your sentiments. I thought I was the only one.

(Anonymous) 2007-07-02 11:44 am (UTC)(link)
I ship it LIKE WHOA. I mean, I ship it so hard I daren't even look at FF.net in case fic for it exists because I know it will be drossy scrapings from a fanbrat's lolglands, and I want to keep my vision of their love untainted. NO other pairing in my life has had that honour.

9. I agree wholeheartedly. I love the atmosphere in the game much more than any of the other ones and I'd love it if they went back to that cyberpunk style again. It's something I can relate to much easier than the others. I love Midgar, it's just so tragic yet beautiful in an odd way. No other FF town has attracted me as such. Of course I wouldn't want to live there but... you know what I mean. And all the hatred towards liking this game is stupid. You like what you like.

(Anonymous) 2007-07-01 12:57 pm (UTC)(link)
9. WINS AT LIFE.

..I actually didn't mind 5, the generalized hating-on FF, because it's fine if the genre doesn't appeal. I get mad when people single out FFVII in particular, because it was the best Final Fantasy.
(Don't you dare tell me FFVIII had a plot.)

[identity profile] quaedam.livejournal.com 2007-07-01 01:25 pm (UTC)(link)
12. I'm sort of surprised at this secret--I'd always thought Ichigo/Rukia (though I ship it) was considered the H/Hr of the fandom. (There even being a comm *called* 'sane ichiruki'. . .yeah, I sort of thought my ship was generally considered the crazy one. ^^)

14. Aw, you're just a product of the internet age. Those of us who were 8-10 years old pre-internet had to learn about sex in the seamy corridors of our local libraries and bookstores. :3 But it happens to everyone somewhere and somehow, even to people with *very* progressive parents who favor telling their children everything.

28. *That's* a suggestive picture. ^^ Who are they?

not-secrets: Prostitute AU's aren't my cup of tea, but then, I don't much care for ships across a significant power differential.

[identity profile] dropsofgleam.livejournal.com 2007-07-01 01:45 pm (UTC)(link)
27. I remember my reaction upon seeing them for the first time was "AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH, THE STILL-BORN SMURFS!!! DO NOT WANT!!!!1111 D: T-T"

[identity profile] missdeep.livejournal.com 2007-07-01 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)
15- So much word. Come to my journal baby, it's all David/Julia all the time.

4. Amen. I've always hated it, but actually... almost opened one, myself, just to do it.
Wound up bailing out last minute because the person who was supposed to help me lost internet connection, and I remembered that the concept isn't exactly my cup of tea... and decided against it.

5. I hear you on that. I've never really liked the Final Fantasy games, I'm terribly out of the loop in most everything relating to it. Not to say they're bad games, just that I never got into them. And yes, I do play and have played games similar in design.

10. Haha~

12. Not really related, but- Is it sick that I ask the same question of FMA? It's supposed to be Ed's 'coming of age tale.' now or something... Funny, I thought it was supposed to be about them getting their bodies back? Romance and pairings, what?

13. Erm... Not going to agree with all of this, here. But some of it, yeah. Sometimes perky characters are just hiding their pain. And sometimes happy characters need love, too.
All I really have to say is~ Tohru Honda.

14. Yeah. I did the same thing. It wasn't Gundam, but I was looking up pictures of anime, all innocent.... And then suddenly yaoi porn. It wasn't until probably ten years later that I got into yaoi as an adult (Most series I followed had het pairings I enjoyed) and porn... Not really my thing.
Anyway, point being: Didn't scar or change anything about me.
TMI: The real porn my dad had stored on the computer, however..... I still have nightmares.

18. I don't go looking for them, but yeah... When I happen upon them during a low mood, it makes me feel much better about my skill. And I think that makes me a bitch. Putting you just that one step of mean higher than me.

19. Okay, hot? No. He looks too much like my mother's old boyfriend. And ew, that's just creepy. But who doesn't adore Munch? Seriously.

22. .... As much as I agree on the awesomeness. I'm not even going to get into how much this secret pained me, in my old fashioned ways.

not!secrets: Yeah... Not my cup of tea, either. But I had some laughs because of it. Bashing's not really my cup of tea, either, though.

You're not going to be loved when you're a BNF. Believe me. Most BNFs are the focus of much jealousy and attack, so don't expect it to be all flowers and roses if you ever reach that status.

If you want to be a BNF, you've got to produce. And the stuff you produce has to be good! Simple as that. If you create and folks like it, they will stick around for more.

But...you're only as good as your last piece, I'm afraid. You cannot rest on your laurels. If you stop producing, folks stop paying attention. They're not in it because they love you, of course, they only love the yayas they get off of your work.

It appears you're making the BIG mistake of believing that if people like your creations they will like you too. Not the case. Sorry!

5. I hear ya. Even though, I still play them because of my friend who is absolute fanatic for anything Square. FFXII is surprisingly fun even if everyone says the story sucks. It's the game play that keeps me playing. Final Fantasy in general is "meh" at best.
