Better safe than sorry. I'd rather offend someone like you than the majority who are logical enough to understand there's a big difference between a foetus and an appendix.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 07:50 am (UTC)(link)
"to imply that it's a medical decision akin to having your appendix removed is very callous"

I agree with this.

Good luck, and everything's going to be just fine :)

[identity profile] weekendoffender.livejournal.com 2012-01-16 07:55 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, so because I don't treat my own abortion with some kind of importance that you think I should, then I should't be treated with respect?

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 07:58 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't think we need to be putting that action on a pedestal like some of y'all seem to be doing."

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. ._.

I'm sorry. I wasn't very clear. I didn't mean the emotions of the women who have abortions, I meant the ethics surrounding abortion (and by extension how various people may react to the
topic. Abortion always mean the death of something/someone and that's why it's different from regular medical treatment.

Excuse me, I'm going to go kill myself now.

Best of luck, Anon! You're already showing incredibly self-awareness by being honest with yourself; I'm sure you'll come out of it great <3

That's sort of a rude prediction.

I recently discovered that my wife had been hiding her secret love of the Jersey Shore from me. I have yet to file for divorce.

Small and insignificant secrets are like the building blocks of successful long-term relationships. Or something.

Nobody's saying that abortion is fantastic, we're just being supportive of someone who has made an INCREDIBLY difficult decision.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 09:11 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed, it is very much a valid trigger warning.

That's totally fine, man. The show is closer to my heart but I loved both movies and I totally get liking em better. Don't worry, you don't have to ~wish you liked the show more~. Why? If the movies are your baby, there's no problem, no OMG SHAME in it or anything. They're fun! and fast-paced and bantery and well-shot and RDJ is ALWAYS DELIGHTFUL and I've never liked Jude Law so much as I do watching him play Watson. s'all good!

(Martin Freeman omg COME INTO MY LOVIN' ARMS THOUGH ♥_________♥
But I swear, we can all get along!)

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 09:13 am (UTC)(link)
My body is completely ready. I never knew I needed something so badly.

I STOLE THE TEEVEE

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 09:14 am (UTC)(link)
I like that! Yes!

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 09:14 am (UTC)(link)
This would be lovely. Rawr, I love her.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 09:15 am (UTC)(link)
Ohh, maybe Mos Def as Holmes and Ice-T as Mycroft?

.....omfg YES

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 09:17 am (UTC)(link)
This, seriously.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 09:20 am (UTC)(link)
Yep, you're definitely passive-aggressive.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 09:22 am (UTC)(link)
Cumberbatch and Freeman might be good actors, but they don't have the natural on-screen chemistry that RDJ and Law have. Though I'd definitely argue that RDJ and Law are better and more varied actors in general.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 09:26 am (UTC)(link)
this. seriously, i hate the implication that movies are somehow dumber or more mindless than tv series.

i won't claim that the sherlock holmes movies are incredible pieces of cinema, but bbc!sherlock is hardly a more gritty and 'grounded' piece of media. heck, i'm a fan of the series and i still wouldn't call it any more than a fun detective drama.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 09:27 am (UTC)(link)
IDK if I'd call him 'thin'. He's pretty average in build. Certainly not fat, but not someone I'd describe as 'thin' either.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 09:41 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not the OP and I've never posted anything like this, but I don't mind this sort of secret, either. Maybe that was a fandom they shared, or maybe that's just the best analogy the OP has to express just what the dissolution of their friendship felt like to them. I mean, it's not like you can generally go up to someone IRL and say "Heather and I are done. Now I know just how Professor X felt when he broke things off with Magneto."

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 09:47 am (UTC)(link)
This is the first time I've seen the new Lola as I didn't care enough to look it up when I heard about it before. And, well, I agree.

DO NOT WANT.

Wtf is wrong with her eyes??? Both her and Bugs look odd. The rest of the cast looks ok, but those two... there's something just not right. The legs look too long for the torso. The face when in a natural state looks slightly surprised.
