This legitimately made me laugh.

Hmm, do I want to emulate someone gentle, creative, warm-hearted and decent in all his dealings with everyone?

Why yes, yes I do!

"The Powers That Be"

My solution? Everyone is a wanker, a tosser, a toerag, or an arsehole. Use 'bloody' beforehand for extra emphasis.

I will confess to using 'twatwallet' occasionally. If one takes the literal meaning of it... well, that's a number of quite odd mental images.

Not a BNF by any stretch of the imagination, but yes I have a number of issues, and yes, on occasion, those issues do interfere with my ability to write fic or create fanart, and sometimes I even get frustrated enough to vent about it.

I am diagnosed with Psychotic Major Depression, Anxiety/Panic Disorder. ADD, Anorexia Nervosa (Subtype 1-Restricting), and OCD tendencies. I don't see why I need to hide my issues away, like they're a bunch of dirty little secrets that should be locked in a deep, dark closet, and never see the light of day. I chose long ago to be open about my diagnosis, not to try and earn some sort of 'special snowflake' status, but to try and combat the fear and stigma that surrounds these illnesses. Stigma, and fear is what prevented me from getting help as soon as I experienced my first psychotic episode; stigma and fear is what stopped me from facing my issues, and getting treatment sooner rather than later. Stigma is what cost me more than 15 years of my life, when I could have been on the road to recovery, or at least learning to manage my conditions. No more. This is part of who I am, I don't really care what anyone else thinks.

I am mentally ill, deal with it. Because that's exactly what I've chosen to do. And if that makes me a 'special snowflake', then so be it, it's not my problem.

I thought the part in Futurama where, when asked where the machine to slow down or speed up time, Fry holds up a bong, was pretty funny (I believe this was in Season 4). But that may be because I knew they snuck it past the censors by calling it a 'fancy vase' in the scripts.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-26 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
It kinda is your problem, but thanks for trying to make it everyone else's problem. It is this kind of asshattery that makes those of us who want to deal with our problems properly and in a socially constructive manner have much more difficult lives. So take your problem and fuck off, asshole.

This.

I'm Deaf, I come from an all-Deaf family, and I graduated from an all-deaf school....and I couldn't agree more! The Deaf culture bugs the hell out of me - especially with how they whine about being discriminated but then they don't hesitate in discriminating people based on their hearing levels. Gahhhh. But hmm - even though I have never ever heard of the pencil incident....I still find it really hard to believe that Deaf people would be okay with the idea of stuffing pencils in ears. I'm sure it's just an isolated incident and I don't think we can speak for the entire culture - although I won't be surprised if it happened more than once....

Remember when it was totally shocking that Bart talked back to his parents?

Ahh, I'm old.

With "Alone On The Water" considered the "greatest, saddest, fanfiction ever" by the Sherlock fandom you...anyone really, can do better. Sherlock needs great, even good, writers. Submit something and have fun.

No, I can't comprehend why no one would want to improve their skill at doing something they enjoy. When someone puts model kits together for fun, don't they want to make it look as good as they can make it? If someone knits, don't they want the things they knit to look nice and not look like a jumbled mess?

As an art tutor, I find your attitude in this thread pretty gross. Yes, you're within your right to state your opinions on other people's art, but you need to have some tact.

Considering what you have to offer in your own gallery, I'd be very careful throwing stones in glass houses. You have a lot of room for improvement as an artist- try focusing on bettering yourself instead of bringing others down.

[identity profile] malik-chan.livejournal.com 2012-01-26 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Except it makes sense to just say it anyway because this is the internet, saying it ahead of time skips all the unwarranted bullshit. If someone doesn't say anything, I assume that they don't mind receiving them because they didn't say anything. Saying they don't want them in the first place is a safeguard for both of us: they don't baw and I don't have to deal with their whining if they do reply.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-26 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Um, I'm from America and it's not considered universally sexist "in America". Here too, people's definitions of the word vary so widely it's basically impossible to know who will find it offensive and who won't.

[identity profile] intrigueing.livejournal.com 2012-01-26 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
wat

[identity profile] intrigueing.livejournal.com 2012-01-26 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude, it's Kelsey Grammer. Even if Bob spent the entire episode rambling about his tax returns, it'd still be funnier than half of what's on TV.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-26 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow. Thanks for making them feel bad for having a mental illness and trying to be open about so people can learn that GASP, others shouldn't feel guilty or bad for having it!

It's kinda your problem for making people feel for having mental illness. So take your judgement and go away, kid.

Remember kid, stigmatizing people just makes the world a worst place and finding out that your best friend ended up dying because they felt bad about having depression.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-26 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
someone on the sherlock rant meme flipped the fuck out because calling someone "nuts" is offensive towards the mentally ill

[identity profile] malik-chan.livejournal.com 2012-01-26 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps you should have been more clear because you basically said we were jealous we didn't get to draw for fun. You pretty much implied art students don't get to draw for fun at all. And wtf is "you can't do for fun what I do for work." lol look at you acting as if you didn't imply anything, oh, and the term is reading comprehension.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-26 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
You don't have to be good at something to enjoy doing it. This thing you're doing right here, snidely acting like AYRT is somehow less of a person because they put their effort into everything but art, that's why people hate pushy art student types. Thanks for demonstrating the problem so clearly.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-26 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Absence of a 'no' is not a 'yes'.

[identity profile] malik-chan.livejournal.com 2012-01-26 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
It is to me!

[identity profile] malik-chan.livejournal.com 2012-01-26 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
lol ok because that comment of mine was so full of snobbishness and not lack of understanding. But you already made up your mind about me because you assume I think everyone has the extra time to do things they like all the time.

[identity profile] malik-chan.livejournal.com 2012-01-27 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
I usually do, I just have a habit of being brutally honest at times.

So did you look up my da through my lj profile or Google with my lj name? I know I have room for improvement, I never say no to crit, and considering the last time I uploaded something to my gallery was several months ago... lol Just because I'm not the best evar doesn't mean I can't see things that are wrong with other peoples' art.
