... then I realized physics is mostly lots and lots and lots of fancy math and I got over it.
But that doesn't mean it's wrong to want to be something based on a fandom!

I study history, and it's not uncommon at all for people here to say they watched Indiana Jones movies a lot growing up. Another common stated source of inspiration is the Civilization game series. :D

But, y'know, I'm doing EngLit at university right now because of fandom - because reading was the best thing ever as a kid, and fandom was what got me really interacting with the things I read, rather than passively reading. And I'm hoping to translate the skills I learnt on this course into a law conversion course in a year or so's time. I'd say that fandom is a great motivator. ^_^

Also, I am currently taking an Epidemiology course in University and it is so fascinating. Today we spent an hour and a half discussing schistosomiasis and Dracunculiasis (Guinea Worm) and there were a few collective shudders. But still, fascinating stuff!
Sidenote: that book series was so fantastic!
