while I don't agree with the school of thought that rapists deserve to be raped themselves, I still don't think it's a view harsh enough to actually cause me to lose faith in humanity. I've known rape victims who have wished that their rapist would one day know how it feels, but I don't think they are necessarily horrible people for thinking that.

Let me put it this way, if your mother, sister, daughter, friend, or girlfriend was raped, her rapist was sent to jail, and you heard that he got raped in prison, your response wouldn't be "serves him right"?

Has the concept that two wrongs don't make a right escaped you? I'd be angry as hell if someone hurt my family, or myself that way. However, that path, the' serves them right' path, is nothing but the beginning of a downward spiral of bitterness. I would say that it serves them tight that they were sent to jail, hopefully for a very long time.

If we're talking about TV karma, I'd say that Lucretia payed for her sins in Kill'em all. And I know she isn't a good person, but I can't help to like her because Lucy Lawless is that awesome. But Ashur... I hate him and I wish him a long, painful death. And he was a rapist long before he started to rape Lucretia, he's scum.

She raped Crixus, she sent Crixus' girlfriend to places where she'd be raped, (and now she's got trauma coming out of her ears that will probably not end well for her OR Crixus)....it could be said that Lucretia deserved Crixus ending her pregnancy with a sword, barely surviving a massacre, the death of her husband and the loss of her status and household.

But it should never be said that Lucretia deserved to be raped.

No one does.

I've been raped before, and if I had the choice between being raped again or nearly dying in a massacre and having my husband die, then I would have to choose the first option (not that either choice is desirable, of course).

Although I do find the irony of the situation fascinating, after how she organized and forced so many men and women into the same position. And participated in several of them herself over a period of many years. That she is now put in the very position of the slaves she thought as nothing but pawns to be used and sold is what the show is going for, I think.

I think so too. She went from being Domina and having the power of life or death over a good many people, to being (in her POV) reduced to being raped by a former slave of hers - and she can't even DO anything about it. She can't have him killed, she can't have him even minimally punished. It's just another insult heaped onto a pile of them, I think.

But I also think she's going to get Ashur back, one way or another.
