If that fails, you can usually force them open again by pinching your nose and then attempting to exhale through it. Start gently (and stop if it starts hurting!) but gradually increase the force and you should get a small popping sensation and a return to your normal hearing.

You'll need quite a lot of warm water, so you may want to grab a cup or basin. Fill the syringe, tilt your ear down towards a sink or other basin thing, and flush your ear. Use as much pressure for a decent jet of water. Keep doing this until you think most of the wax has fallen out, or you can noticeably hear.
