You cried?

Wow. I must be some kind of an unfeeling jerk because I saw that and went. "Huh. I like that twist." And moved onto something else.

IDK. I mostly agree with you, but I'm not really attached to any ships, so I suppose I tend more towards multishipping, and am therefore hardly an unbiased source. :D But I suppose some wacky multi could go off aggressively claiming that OTP shippers, as a group, ruin fandom forever by skewing the popular views of canon to suit their ship's purposes. Multis, on the other hand, because they are so laid back and relaxed, would naturally never do something like that, and are therefore "better" fans. Or something like that, anyway. :)

...And now I'm terrified I have cursed the above into existence.

I can post images but not videos, and I'm not using openid, so I'm pretty sure it's at least on Fandomsecrets. You can post them on your own posts, so I'm not sure, but it's clear I can't do it on F!S anymore.

She actually said "this character shouldn't be IC"?

Oh my hatred has grown to new heights. Also, my hair is blonde and glowing?

It's a constant in every season's bloopers.

I just like how comfortable the entire cast is with each other, especially Jared, Jensen, and Misha and the side character circle of friends. That's the draw for me.

The butthurt is strong with this one.

For the record, I don't ship Makorra either.

Write what happens next!!!!! Maybe that will cheer you up.

deviantART is a den of thieves, perverts and terrible-to-mediocre art, with very, very few precious exceptions.

Just leave it, OP. It's not worth the stress.

It's only fun for ~hugzz~ (I was going to use less flattering terms, but that one gives you the idea), "networking" (or actual networking, if you really know what you're doing) and drama fits you wouldn't get away with in many other places.

I d/led it for free, and gave it to my friends, so we can all read it, and then snark the fuck out of it. I figure if it's that popular it must be on some level an easy enjoyable read, even if hilariously bad. I haven't brought myself to start reading it yet though...

I had a similar epiphany recently while reading a very popular AU fic (which I usually don't read, and I have no idea why I'm reading this one), which is actually well-written and meticulously plotted. I stopped for a minute and thought, "Why isn't there a book like this? Because I would pay for it."
The only reason this 50 Shades bullshit really bothers me is that it's BAD fanfiction. There is a lot of good fic out there. This shouldn't be the bit that gets a multi-million-dollar publishing/film deal.

ayrt

Ain't no reason you can't do both. I would equally enjoy depressing and angsty brotherfic, just as much as I would delicious angsty shipping fic.

And I shall dub the ship name...Noalok. Or is Tarratok better?

(Anonymous) 2012-07-02 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
DA

I think the problem (and I want to point out here that this has only ever happened to me on the internet, and I've yet to hear such bullshit from people who call themselves feminist that I've actually talked to in person) is with the latter part. Does male privilege exist? Absolutely. All kinds of privilege do exist. But more often or not anytime I hear that word being used, it's used to exclude or wielded like a sword. I think saying everybody has a certain advantage is simply not true, the individual experience is simply too varied. I'm not going to start tossing out anecdotes or examples here, but just because an advantage exists for one group doesn't mean everybody in said group actually gets to use that advantage.

"You may not be able to comprehend this issue like somebody on the other end of it would because it's not your experience" is the sort of thing I've heard in real life. I can accept that.

"You have privilege, anything you say (including things that are not directly related to issues pertaining to that privilege such as pointing out how horrible I'm being to a third party) is invalid, you scum" is the tone I tend to find online. So I can see where somebody might be wary when they hear the term "feminist" especially in certain online circles.

Well that's what happens when you place ridiculous expectations on someone that they could never possibly meet.

Or maybe, like stainless above, they have a personal experience that makes them want to specifically avoid that particular label. I think some people here are jumping to conclusions too rapidly... especially considering what the secret itself is about here.

(Anonymous) 2012-07-02 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
That's what I was trying to say. You said it much better and more succinctly. =)
