16. I was disappointed at first in how little blood there was in ATLA, but I forgot my disappointment because the storyline and the philosophy behind it was so kick ass. I was one of those people who considered it just a children's cartoon at first, but I was so wrong, and now I can't wait for season 3.

10. I know how you feel. But I'm also kind of glad there aren't many anime fans from the Indian subcontinent- don't ask why, I couldn't explain. I think hindi anime dubs scarred me for life.

As for speaking Japanese better than your home tongue? Been there! Although I think I speak urdu/hindi fine, but where it comes to Japanese, I can make more sense. But where it comes to cosplay? Do it for fun! Besides, there are more of us Indian/Pakistani fans than you think. ;)

Oh god, hindi dubs? I sure as hell do not want to know what that sounds like. Thankfully we don't get that in Singapore, but I think my brain sort of just broke imagining 1. anime characters speaking hindi and 2. speaking it in an awful dub voice.

I can understand if there weren't that many anime fans from that part of the world - not much exposure and spread there, and it just doesn't seem like the sort of thing that'd be intuitively appealing. And while I have never experienced it I have a terrible feeling I'd cringe more if I met an annoying fanbrat who was the same race as me than an annoying fanbrat who wasn't (I hate thinking this way but it's teh truth.)

But I still wish I didn't stick out like a sore thumb and everyone continues staring at me and speaking funnily when I go for meetings with my school's Japanese Club! I can speak Japanese better than some of them, even. >:(

I'd do cosplay for fun. But I'd rather do anime characters that only have dark skin because I have a nasty thing about people cosplaying who look vastly different from the original (so I think I'd actually do Anthy because my face apparently looks like hers - hey secret #4! - but body-wise I'm closer to Casca from Berserk. :[)
And I wish I knew where they were, the rest of you Indian/Pakistani fans! If not online then IRL. Gah.

Also, amen to dancing around to them. Thank goodness I'm not the only one who does that. No, I don't know the dances for Zukkoke and ORB and Sukiyanen and Naniwa and Oh! Enka. I have no idea what you are talking about.

HAHA it's starmen.net. Are you being serious? Screw them. I just looked up the post- Tony and Jeff, and Ness and Jeff? That's not perverse- neither of those pairings are. Tony and Jeff practically writes itself, if you go by the fact that we have the word of the creator that Tony was a bit of a poof. XD

And besides, one person hardly equates to the entire game's fandom. I say write it. You're not perverse at all.

13. I try not to be an elitist about movies, because I already get enough hell for liking, say, Napoleon Dynamite.* It's no fun.

I just say, "I'm not too keen on that movie/genre" and leave it at that.

Oh no, you don't sound like some strange art collector at all. ;) I know it's wrong to make a blanket statement about a race, but if there's anything I like about Indians (well people from that subcontinent) in general, it's their charisma and sense of humour. And I think we look pretty good too!

I'm not ashamed about it in the least bit at all - just really wish there was just ONE person I knew IRL who was Indian and liked anime! It's a little unsettling when every single person you know well online and every single anime fan you see IRL is Chinese/Korean/Japanese/European/American. (Haven't seen any Malays either. Unless you count the teacher who was a FMA nut at my previous school and wore his bloody cape to school...)

I am terribly amused that you had to come out and so explicitly state how Maiko might not be real. 12 never stated that they believe Maiko was OMGSOCANON or that it was infaliable, just that the wankstorm that followed that bit of info was funny.

Yes, it IS a trailer, anything can happen. But Mai and Zuko stilled kissed, and I still think that's awesome no matter what context it's in, JUST because of how hilarious it is to watch the fandom go insane making assumptions.

Really, no one is trying to sink your ship, we're just laughing at the people hauling out bail buckets while nothing is yet going down. :p

I'm 21 and I love Avatar. My 23 year old best friend introduced me to it and I met my 26 year old girlfriend through the fandom. I am blantant and unashamed about how much I love it and foist it on every person I meet who's even vaugely interested in television shows! My lastest victim is in her mid twenties as well.

20. That scene in One Piece made me cry. ;o; I don't really have any friends that like One Piece, but I love the series because the sense of friendship is so damn STRONG. It's really a wonderful series, despite what rep it got overseas thanks to the dub.
