3. Yeah, I'm still not entirely sure WHY I detested 'The Golden Compass' (polar bears with armor, witches, river gypsies, A TEXAN WITH AN AIRSHIP ... this should be my favorite book in the world, gorramit!) but Lyra was certainly a big part of it.
