5. Wow, you're an idiot you know that? A lot of people liked these series before they became part of Adult Swim and while Bleach is the only one of those series I watch all of my friends were fans of the manga long before it came to Adult Swim. I'm humble enough to admit to only recently having become interested in it myself but that was in no way linked to Adult Swim whatsoever since I rarely watch TV nor do I particularly care for dubs. Why diss someone for liking something popular. You give anime fans a bad name, I hope you feel proud of yourself for being such a douche bag.

7. I'm in no way interested in Death Note, however I can't stand L by default due to cosplay. So I agree with you.

3. You aren't alone. I disliked the series because of her character and her ways, and because of many other things, some major and some subtle, but none of them because my religious beliefs were offended (considering I have no religious beliefs). It's more that my social beliefs were offended, but I won't get into that.

But, I also very much liked the series. As I read them, I was rather absorbed with analysis, both critical and praising. I shall probably read them again in the future to see what I make of them on another go-round, as I'm rarely so torn over my opinion over a fictional work. Interesting books, though, despite the negative qualities. Gave me something to chew on, including Lyra's bad, irritating traits and the inspiration and purpose for them.

5. Maybe I'm the only one here who doesn't think you're an asshole? But maybe that's because I agree. I don't think it's bad to like Naruto, Bleach or Fullmetal Alchemist (I actually like Fullmetal), but I think it's pretty sad when that's the ONLY anime someone likes, and I think that's what you were saying. That people shouldn't just like something because everyone else does; and I totally agree. There's way better stuff out there, but a lot of people tend to overlook it because it isn't the anime/ cartoon that's "IN".

12. WORD! I'm a newer Transformers fan because I'm a 90's kid who pretty much just watched Nickelodeon, but it's always frustrating when you meet a 'fan' and they say "Oh- well, I don't like the OLD cartoon..." because G1 is where it's at! D:

When it comes to long epic fighting shounen, which I adore, the only other one that I'd say tops Bleach or Naruto is One Piece or some older ones like YYH or DBZ. HNG and HxX are probably close though, I just don't think they match up. Honestly, there's lots of crap anime/manga out there and sometimes mainstream stuff is mainstream for a reason.

1. I'd rather listen to a karaoke singer who can actually sing than one who boasts about his or her knowledge of songs in (mangled) Japanese. Then again, karaoke is something people do for fun, so one should enjoy it to the fullest, no matter what people say afterwards or how well one actually sings.

5. Some people don't have access to Adult Swim or other platforms for mainstream anime, you know? So maybe if their list of interests contains that kind of series, it may be because they like them. I'm not saying this is the case for everyone, but hey, it happens :)

5. It kind of annoys me too when people are only interested in anime on Adult Swim and Toonami, but a lot of the time they're just casual anime fans who don't know how to find more obscure things. It's not Adult Swim's fault their anime becomes so overhyped, though I wish they'd pick up more shows that aren't 95% filler.

12. I love G1 to pieces, but I love Armada too. I wasn't even alive for G1 (it ended the year before I was born, then I got into it through the G2 rehashing). Am I supposed to be ashamed or something? Not everyone has the funds to get ahold of the original series -- it cost me close to $300! People will like what they like, just live with it.

Maybe I'm just lucky with my forum choices, but I almost never see bashing of any of the female characters,or it could just be so much less than my previous fandoms that i don't notice (gundam wing and yugioh anyone?).

I can't stand Mickey for completely unrelated reasons, but I thought he was pretty cool in kh, so people complaining about him in the games bugs me. And I don't write any Disney characters into fic in anything near a major roll, not because I don't like them (a lot of people think this), but because Disney is really well known for chasing down fanfic writers and fanartists with c&d's and I'd rather not get one of those.

I loathed the third book (partly because it was confusing, partly because it was creepy, and in a large part for the unnecessary grossness of the first tualapi attack) and I honestly can't remember very much about the second, but I adored the first one and still do.
